In a few months, the game “Rise of the Ronin” will no longer be exclusive to PlayStation 5 as Koei Tecmo has revealed that it is being adapted for PC release on March 11, 2025. This new version will boast an extensive array of unique features not present in the PS5 edition, which was optimized for the PS5 Pro.
Exclusive features for PCs encompass a 8K resolution, 120 frames per second, as well as ultrawide and superultrawide monitor compatibility, along with DirectX 12 Ultimate support, and additional capabilities.
Although the initial reception from critics was somewhat tepid, Rise of the Ronin has since emerged as Koei Tecmo’s top-selling game, cultivating a devoted fanbase along the way. In our review of Rise of the Ronin for PS5, we bestowed a 6/10 rating and highlighted the engaging combat and Bonds systems, as well as the intriguing blend of Western and Eastern cultures.
Despite outdated open-world design and a repetitive storyline, the intense combat characteristic of Team Ninja games tries valiantly to salvage the experience. It succeeds in making the gameplay somewhat enjoyable with its Bond system and cultural conflict elements. However, the open world’s integral connection to these features and mechanics makes it challenging to derive pleasure from them for an extended period.
