As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m excited to share that Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have unveiled a fresh trailer for their upcoming sandbox building game, RoadCraft. This captivating video, which you can watch below, evokes the nostalgia of my childhood hours spent playing with toy construction vehicles.
The trailer doesn’t show actual gameplay; instead, it emphasizes a sense of nostalgia that may be stirred by memories of playing with small toys such as bulldozers as a child. Additionally, the trailer highlights a large bulldozer and various other big construction machines in operation. In a playful imitation of loading logs, the children in the scene also manipulate a bunch of straws during their sandbox building project.
Gradually, the camera pulls back to reveal that the children’s “construction site” in their sandbox mirrors the larger construction machinery at work on a grand scale in their surroundings.
In RoadCraft, players assume control over large-scale construction machinery, with the aim of restoring regions ravaged by natural catastrophes. As they progress through a project, their goal is to provide essential supplies to the stricken areas, eventually contributing to the reconstruction process.
The studio reveals that RoadCraft is set to offer a fresh take on simulation, thanks to an innovative engine crafted in-house by Saber Interactive. This engine will influence every object and vehicle in the game, considering their weight and dimensions. Additionally, various materials like wood, sand, and asphalt will exhibit unique traits due to the physics engine’s involvement.
As gamers advance in the game, they’ll have the opportunity to broaden their vehicle collection within the garage. These diverse vehicles can serve various functions: for instance, a bulldozer could be used to remove obstacles, while a sturdy transporter is ideal for moving heavy loads.
As gameplay advances, players can lend assistance to factories and quarries for an uninterrupted flow of resources in large quantities. This aid enables them to establish bigger projects while simultaneously aiding in the reconstruction of damaged regions.
At this moment, “RoadCraft” is being worked on for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The anticipated launch date for the game is May 20th. Notably, “RoadCraft” will offer cooperative multiplayer options for up to four players. In this multiplayer setting, players can collaborate by assigning tasks to each other, enabling them to complete objectives more efficiently.
