Artists Shannon Maer, Angela Wu, and Billy Tucci have created these covers showcasing a formidable Avengelyne wielding her sword, embodying both fierce and deadly strength. Additionally, there will be limited foil variants of certain covers. As both Avengelyne and San Diego Comic-Con mark their 30th anniversaries this year (with the former reaching that milestone in 2025), it’s fitting they commemorate the occasion with this special collaboration.
Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde’s Avengelyne movie lands at Warner Bros.
In April, it was announced that Warner Bros. was near a significant deal for the film rights to “Avengelyne.” The project is said to be coming to WB through Margot Robbie’s production company, with Robbie set to play the lead role and Olivia Wilde slated to direct. Tony McNamara, the writer of “Poor Things,” will pen the screenplay, and based on Deadline’s report, many of the deals have already been finalized, indicating that this adaptation is more likely to happen than previous attempts.
In an earlier conversation, Liefeld expressed that Avengelyne’s tale of redemption struck a chord with the crowd because it mirrors experiences we can all relate to. As a fallen angel forced to make amends among humans, Earth feels alien to her. To save herself and humankind, she must adjust, adding a touch of humor to the larger narrative guiding her quest.
