Robbie Williams has revealed plans for a fresh album called “BRITPOP,” and has also shared a tune that includes the legendary guitarist from Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi.
On Wednesday, the 21st of May, the previous member of Take That officially announced that he will be releasing his first studio album in nearly ten years. As a sneak peek, he has already shared the lead single from the album titled “Rocket,” and it’s available for listening right now.
The singer mentioned that the primary goal behind creating the album was fulfilling his desire to compose and distribute music following his departure from Take That in 1995. He stated this during a declaration, emphasizing that it was an exceptional period for Britpop and a glorious era for British music.
He added: “I’ve collaborated with a few idols of mine on this album. It’s got a grittier sound, features more guitar parts, and is overall more energetic and anthem-like compared to my typical work.
He commented: “There’s definitely a British influence and undeniably some pop elements – I’m incredibly proud of this collection as a whole and can’t wait for listeners to enjoy this album.
I’m equally excited to sing a few tunes from that collection during my upcoming BRITPOP tour, kicking off in the UK, as you might expect.

In a January interview with NME, while promoting his biopic Better Man, Williams had hinted at the upcoming release of the song titled Rocket.
“This [track] is massive guitars, as you can imagine,” he said.
“It’s adrenaline-filled and balls-to-the-wall.”
