Roberta Taylor tributes pour in from EastEnders and The Bill co-stars after actor dies, aged 76

As a movie reviewer with a deep appreciation for British television, I am deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Roberta Taylor at the age of 76. Her contributions to the small screen were nothing short of remarkable, and her absence will be felt profoundly in the acting community.


Many heartfelt tributes have poured in following the sad news of Roberta Taylor’s passing at the age of 76. She was a beloved actress on EastEnders and The Bill.

According to The Guardian, the actor had been dealing with emphysema and passed away on the 6th of July following a fall that had occurred two months prior. This incident triggered a bout of pneumonia, worsening her existing health issues.

It was sadly announced by Roberta’s agent that she passed away on the 6th of July, at the age of 76.

In addition to playing the roles of Gina Gold in The Bill and Irene Raymond in EastEnders, Taylor appeared in other notable shows including Luther, Casualty, and Inspector Morse.

In addition, she appeared in the movie version of Roald Dahl’s “The Witches” and the 2005 BBC historical production titled “Bleak House.”

Stuart Antony, an ex-actor from The Bill, expressed his respect for Taylor on Twitter, now known as X.

“It’s sad news that dear Roberta Taylor has gone. She brought joy to every project I worked on with her and was always a delight to be around – Rest in Peace, Roberta x”

From the instant Roberta set foot in Albert Square as Irene Raymond, she left a lasting impression on the screen. Her colleagues will fondly recall her time with us. Our sympathies are with Roberta’s loved ones during this difficult period.

It’s sad to learn that Roberta Taylor has passed away. I had the pleasure of collaborating with her a few years back when she portrayed Dusty’s mother in my musical production of Dusty. Her energy was incredible. My condolences go out to her loved ones.
