Roguelike clean ’em up game Scrubbin’ Trubble announced for PC

A freshly established studio known as Odd Object, helmed by Stevie Hryciw (famous for The Indie Game Legend 3D and Catacomb Kids) and seasoned animator and roguelike developer Tyriq Plummer (notable works include Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda, Catacomb Kids, UFO 50) has unveiled their upcoming project, a roguelike clean-up game titled Scrubbin’ Trubble. This game is scheduled to debut on PC via Steam in the year 2025.

Here is an overview of the game, via Odd Object:

About

As a gamer, I’d describe “Scrubbin’ Trubble” as a thrilling, roguelike clean-up adventure. Battle against filthy foes in solo mode or team up with friends for a cooperative challenge (up to 4 players). This turn-based game combines the intense action of RPGs and the brutal brawling of hack-and-slash games, creating an endless loop of cleaning and fighting!

In Scrubbin’ Trubble, you won’t succeed unless you roll up your sleeves and dive right in! Pick from an array of RPG-style classes, each with its own strategy for dealing with dirt: The Bubbaladin, a close-quarters fighter who soaks up grime; the Bleacher, a long-range stain-blaster; the Washbuckler, who pushes back and damages enemies with a splash, and many others! Additionally, you’ll discover an assortment of handy tools and one-time use items that can shift the balance in your favor during battle.

Traverse through every floor of The House, which is randomly generated, by cleaning up malevolent creatures that thrive in dirt. Progressively moving downwards, you’ll accumulate points and improve your characters based on their performance. Reach the final stage to confront one of the Four Plagues of the Apocalypse, but be cautious: if all your party members are defeated, it’s game over, forcing you to restart from the very beginning!
