Roman Reigns' Highly Anticipated WWE Return Imminent: Report

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share my perspective on the latest developments in the world of WWE, specifically regarding Roman Reigns‘ rumored comeback ahead of SummerSlam. The “Tribal Chief” left an indelible mark during his Championship run, but after losing the belts at WrestleMania 40 to Cody Rhodes, he took some well-deserved time off to focus on Hollywood projects.

Roman Reigns solidified his place among WWE greats during his Championship tenure, but following his defeat at WrestleMania 40 against Cody Rhodes, he chose to step away from the ring for a while. Recently, there have been indications that Reigns may be making a return to the wrestling scene earlier than anticipated. According to PWInsider’s Elite tier, the “Tribal Chief” is expected to make his WWE comeback prior to SummerSlam in Cleveland next month. The report suggests that Reigns was originally scheduled for a return around two to three weeks before the Premium Live Event. If he doesn’t appear on the night of the show, then the following SmackDown could mark his return date.

At WrestleMania, Solo Sikoa assumed the role of the “Tribal Chief” and formed a new faction called Bloodline, including Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Ever since then, Sikoa has been attempting to gain recognition as their leader from both WWE viewers and roster members. He’s even made jabs at Reigns in the process. During the latest episode of SmackDown, Sikoa declared that when Reigns eventually returns, he will have to answer to Sikoa. Understandably, Reigns wouldn’t be pleased with this challenge or the loss of Paul Heyman, who was eliminated by the group a few weeks prior.

At SummerSlam, Rhodes boldly accepted Sikoa’s challenge, but was swiftly assaulted by the formidable group as soon as the contest began. Randy Orton valiantly attempted to intervene and save Rhodes, yet they were outmatched and ultimately defeated. With Reigns making an unexpected entrance to thwart Sikoa from securing the championship, it appears that WWE is gearing up for another installment of the Bloodline Civil War in the future.

What Matches Are Taking Place at WWE SummerSlam?

The lineup for the upcoming SummerSlam event is quickly taking shape as the date approaches, with a total of four title bouts anticipated. Previously announced was the title defense by Gunther and Nia Jax, who hold the King and Queen of the Ring titles, against Damian Priest and Bayley respectively. More recently, SmackDown officially confirmed two additional title matches featuring Rhodes and Sikoa.

Logan Paul is set to face LA Knight for the US Championship with the necessary contract ready for Paul’s approval, which only requires his signature. Additionally, there are plans for a tag team title defense involving Johnny Gargano, given his Cleveland roots. Moreover, the anticipated showdown between Ripley and Liv Morgan, where Morgan has allegedly taken everything from Ripley, is shaping up to be a potential WrestleMania-worthy spectacle. Keeping Ripley out of this highly engaging storyline at WrestleMania would seem both foolish and perplexing.

Further indications suggest that Drew McIntyre may confront both CM Punk and Seth Rollins following Punk’s interference in their championship opportunities at Money in the Bank. Rollins expressed anger towards the injured McIntyre on WWE Raw, declaring his intent to target him once he recovers – a sentiment McIntyre has repeatedly expressed regarding Punk.
