As the third season of The Wheel of Time approaches its conclusion, it’s been earning high praises from fans, a fact not lost on lead actress and executive producer, Rosamund Pike.
Speaking as a devoted fan, I recently delved into the heartfelt insights shared by the captivating actress portraying Moiraine Damodred in the enchanting series inspired by Robert Jordan’s novels. She candidly addressed the constructive feedback and criticism that fans have expressed about the initial seasons of our beloved show.
In reference to David Tennant’s podcast, she mentioned that at last, the third season is now available, much to the delight and excitement of its dedicated followers.
We’ve found our stride in our third season. Our first two received constructive criticism from the fans, which helped maintain an ongoing dialogue with them. They appreciated certain aspects while disliking others, but this third season has been met with the response, ‘This feels like our show,’ and that’s incredibly thrilling.
Alongside his thoughts, Pike mused about Moiraine being the character he’s worked on the most throughout his career, noting: “I’ve found it incredibly rewarding. The character evolves – the issues that concern them shift from season to season, and I’m always striving to uncover new layers.

Certain iconic personality traits make these characters endearing, and I never tire of them because they’re fundamental to their identity.
She added: “I hope to goodness we get a pick-up for another season.”
Previously, some enthusiasts had expressed dissatisfaction that the expansive universe of The Wheel of Time hadn’t been effectively translated onto the screen, especially in regards to the narrative of lead character Rand, portrayed by Josha Stradowski. However, these concerns were acknowledged and addressed by showrunner Rafe Judkins earlier on.
I am equally fond of Rand and Perrin as they are themselves, and this is an excellent opportunity for these characters to truly excel. The actors portraying them, Marcus Rutherford and Josha, are more than capable of delivering what we require from them in this season.
Previously, I too felt compelled to ease the concerns of our dedicated fans, clarifying that the creative team responsible for the series has not overlooked any pivotal scene. Instead, they have been diligently working to ensure every element aligns perfectly with their vision.
Though there may be differing opinions, it’s likely that instead of Rand, as one might anticipate, his next step on his journey will involve retrieving Callandor from the Stone of Tear. However, before this, we are heading into the Aiel Waste first, because he needs to uncover his true identity.
In the novels, there are numerous chances for Rand’s inner struggles as he grapples with his role as the Dragon Reborn. However, let’s ensure these conflicts become more tangible and visible.
Instead of trying to make subjective judgments about films, let’s have him embark on a journey to explore his identity by visiting the place of his origin. First, we will head to the Aiel Waste, and I trust that you’ll comprehend and admire our reasoning behind this choice.
