Rosie O’Donnell Reveals Unresolved Tension with Ellen DeGeneres

Rosie O’Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres may still have some things to talk through.

The previous host of the “Rosie O’Donnell Show,” who relocated to Ireland with her 12-year-old son Clay in January, expressed her opinions on another daytime talk show colleague deciding to live abroad following Donald Trump’s re-election as President.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly on the 22nd of April, Rosie expressed surprise when learning that Ellen had never been politically vocal before but had decided to leave due to President Trump’s actions. To be honest, this news left me quite astounded.

63-year-old individual, who previously had a child named Clay with the late Michelle Rounds, drew an analogy between his relocation and Ellen DeGeneres’ move with spouse Portia de Rossi to the English countryside.

In essence, Rosie expressed that politics have always been a part of her existence, not necessarily superior or inferior, rather a unique approach to life. She made it clear why she was departing, an action that likely didn’t catch anyone off guard. She added that their paths seldom cross and the situation has been somewhat uncomfortable, but she wishes her well, hoping for peace, love, and her overall well-being in life.

The actress from Now & Then, who has children Parker (age 29), Chelsea (27), Blake (25), and Vivienne (22) with her former wife Kelli Carpenter, explained that she holds no ill-will or resentment towards the comedian from Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, despite any lingering tension between them.

Rosie stated, “I don’t feel inclined to compete with another woman who is gay, for we are not adversaries. We are simply distinct individuals with unresolved past issues between us. It’s important to clarify that these issues didn’t arise from a romantic or partnership context, but rather as friends and comedians. I genuinely wish her well.

TopMob News has reached out to Ellen’s reps for comment and has not heard back.

The former student from the View group later elaborated that they have greater, more significant matters to focus on, being part of the LGBTQ+ community.

As a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, I firmly believe that there’s ample space in this world for each and every one of us, particularly the hilarious voices within our ranks who bring joy and laughter. We must stand united, not just as gay individuals, but as allies, because it’s becoming increasingly clear that we, as a group, are under threat.

The way some attack transgender individuals is downright chilling. It’s crucial for people to recognize their importance within our community. If there’s anyone who needs our protection, it’s those most vulnerable among us. That’s why I stand firm in my commitment to protect and uplift every member of the LGBTQIA+ family.

Previously, the actress who played Harriet in the movie opened up about an unusual dynamic she had with Ellen, who is 67 years old, by acknowledging that they had “something a bit strange” between them, as she looked back on some remarks Ellen made about Rosie during her talk show.

During an interview with Ellen, Larry King expressed his curiosity about the whereabouts of Rosie O’Donnell, stating that her show had faced difficulties and she had identified as a lesbian before disappearing from public view. However, in 2022, on “Watch What Happens Live!”, Rosie clarified that she and Ellen were not close acquaintances.

In the year following her appearance on Andy Cohen’s talk show, Rosie disclosed that Ellen had reached out to her via text message.

In response to The Hollywood Reporter’s inquiry in 2023, she admitted, “I truly apologize, but I can’t recall the incident.” It seems she caught wind of me discussing it on Andy Cohen’s talk show. The details were so vivid to me that I even had t-shirts made with the phrase ‘I don’t know Rosie. We’re not friends,’ which I distributed among my team.

Rosie added, “It just felt like I don’t trust this person to be in my world.”

In January 2024, Bobby (shown here second from the left) spoke up to dispel rumors of a rift with Tan (in the middle), which arose two months following his departure from Queer Eye after an impressive run of eight seasons.

He assured Vanity Fair that Tan and himself are okay, stating, ‘We’re dealing with a private matter, unrelated to the series.’ To set the record straight, this issue wasn’t romantic in nature, but rather something personal that had been simmering for a while.

In March 2024, Tan addressed accusations that he tried to get Jeremiah Brent instead of Bobby on the show “Queer Eye”.

He shared on Instagram that Netflix and the production companies conducted a thorough casting process for the role. Contrary to what some may think, he did not suggest his friend for the job. Instead, they were selected because they were the most suitable candidate for the part. However, he did not help them get the role by eliminating someone else from contention.

In a December 2023 episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Clear,” Holly Marie Combs, who used to act with Shannen on Charmed, claimed that Alyssa had demanded a choice from a show producer: either herself or Shannen, which resulted in Shannen leaving the show in 2001.

Back in February 2024, Alyssa posted on Instagram: “I didn’t possess the authority to terminate anyone,” and further added, “Given how far back this happened, any recounting of these events by anyone can be considered a reinterpretation of the past, or revisionist history.

The following day, Shannen asserted during a panel discussion at MegaCon Orlando, “I am certain that there isn’t any reinterpretation of history taking place within the truth I am aware of.

Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

In September 2023, while engaging in a game called Stir the Pot on TopMob News with her daughter Kelly Osbourne, Sharon expressed that Kelly’s co-star from That ’70s Show was the most impolite celebrity she had ever encountered. She labeled him as “very rude” not once but four times and referred to him as a “naughty little boy” and a “wretched little creature.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Approximately five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed to have a particular attitude when he was on the show The Talk in 2014, following her mistakenly calling him by the wrong name.

She remembered him asking, “‘Who are you? What’s your background in this field?'” To which she responded, “Son, be careful how you talk to me, because I can outmatch and outsmart you easily. You don’t understand the depth of my experience.” In simpler terms, she said, “He questioned who I was and what I’d accomplished in this line of work. And I let him know that he shouldn’t underestimate me, as I am more than a match for him.

In August of 2022, Cassadee and Maren found themselves exchanging strong remarks with Brittany, the spouse of country musician Jason Aldean, following a post Brittany made on Instagram where she shared a Reel showcasing her applying makeup on August 23rd. The caption accompanying the video read: “I’d like to express my gratitude to my parents for not altering my gender during my tomboy phase. I adore this feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa criticized Candace Cameron Bure as being the rudest celebrity. She shared that she felt hurt when Bure declined to take a photo with her on a red carpet event. However, soon after her comment, Bure apologized saying, “I broke your 11-year-old heart by not taking a picture with you. I’m really sorry about it.

The two reconciled their differences, but several months passed before Candace was queried about whether the Great American Family network, where she holds the position of chief creative officer, would portray same-sex couples as main characters in holiday movies. She responded negatively, stating that “Great American Family is likely to uphold traditional marriage at its core.

In 2021, JoJo publicly identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community, expressing on Instagram that the actress’ remark was “unpleasant and painful to an entire group of individuals.

In June 2021, Courtney Love alleged that Olivia Rodrigo failed to credit Hole when using their album cover design for a promotional shot. Rodrigo responded with “I love you and draw so much inspiration from this era.” To which, Courtney playfully replied, “Olivia, consider it a compliment! My preferred florist is located in Notting Hill, London. Send me a message for more information! I eagerly await reading your response [winking face emoji].

During an episode of “Watch What Happens Live”, the actor from “Happy Days” was questioned about his strained relationship with the “Forrest Gump” actor while filming the movie “Turner & Hooch” in 1989.

As a die-hard fanatic, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to helm that movie for a fortnight, only to receive an unexpected summons to the office of the esteemed producer, Jeff Katzenberg. Upon my arrival, he inquired if I had everything with me and instructed me brusquely, “Pack up and head home.

Despite some initial differences, it appeared that Winkler developed a strong bond with Hanks’ canine costar. In his own words, “We got along fantastically well, absolutely fantastic with that dog. I adore that dog.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

As an ardent fan, I can’t forget the unforgettable line from season three premiere of “The Hills”, spoken by none other than Lauren. Their conflict escalated when Heidi started dating her current spouse, Spencer Pratt. The tension reached its zenith when Lauren alleged that Heidi and Spencer had instigated a gossip about her making a sex tape with Jason Wahler.

As a die-hard fanatic of the Fast and Furious franchise, I’ve been caught up in the whirlwind of events unfolding between my beloved co-stars, Tyrese and The Rock (Dwayne Johnson). When the release date for Fast and Furious 9 was postponed to April 2020 on Instagram, Tyrese took it upon himself to voice his displeasure. In a bizarre twist of fate, news also broke that same day about an upcoming Fast and Furious spinoff featuring Dwayne and the formidable Jason Statham hitting cinemas in 2019. The drama didn’t end there; the very next month, Tyrese made headlines with his threat to step down from Fast 9 if The Rock was involved in the movie.

Later on, Tyrese spoke candidly about the conflict during an interview on the “The Red Pill” podcast with Van Lathan, stating, “So far, I haven’t had a chat with The Rock, but we will definitely have a conversation.” He disclosed that he did engage in a discussion with the actor’s producing partner, but not with Dwayne Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted that he had been representing several individuals connected to the franchise, but unfortunately, he was the one who chose to openly express his feelings about the situation. He acknowledged that his actions were unprofessional and not particularly admirable.

No more bad blood here.

For many years, Taylor and Katy were involved in a long-standing dispute, with Taylor’s song “Bad Blood” seemingly being inspired by it. This conflict, which apparently stemmed from disagreements over a backup dancer and competing tours, finally seemed to be resolved when Perry extended an olive branch – literally – to Taylor just before the start of her Reputation Tour.

In a recent Instagram post, I excitedly shared that I’d just discovered a genuine olive branch backstage – quite the meaningful find for me!

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For many years, speculations about a rift between the co-stars of “Sex and the City,” namely Kim and Sarah Jessica Parker, had been quelled. However, whispers of a feud resurfaced when Kim opted not to rejoin for a third film and made statements concerning her fellow actress that left some questioning their relationship.

In a September 2017 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Andy Cohen posed the question: “How did you respond when Kim Cattrall stated that you were never friends, but just colleagues?

Reflecting on our recent conversation, I must admit, my heart is heavy. For an entire week, we delved into this topic, and it left me feeling genuinely distressed. This isn’t how I remember our shared journey, and that discrepancy has been quite unsettling for me.

She expressed, “It’s unfortunate, but somehow it feels like the shared unique experience we had binds us more than anything else. Though it was a professional bond, over the course of many years, it transformed into a personal one because it encompassed significant parts of our lives. So I’m praying that this profound connection overshadows any recent discussions.” She further added, “The privilege of spending so much time doing something extraordinary and forming connections is truly rare and special.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

The legendary musicians have been engaged in a long-standing dispute since 2004. During his acceptance speech for the Classic Songwriter Award at the Q Awards that year, Elton John expressed his discontent towards the audience by stating, “Madonna, considered the best live performer? I disagree! When does miming count as live performance? My apologies, but I firmly believe that anyone who mimes on stage, especially when an audience pays around 75 pounds to watch them, should face some form of consequence.

2008 saw a disagreement between the actress formerly known for starring in “Grey’s Anatomy” and the show’s creator, stemming from her decision to withdraw her name from Emmy Award contention. She explained that this action was taken because she felt she hadn’t been given roles worthy of an Emmy nomination.

Reflecting back on the event, I shared my thoughts during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show, ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’, in 2012. “At one level it was hurtful and at another level, it wasn’t a complete shock,” I admitted. “When individuals reveal their true nature, trust them in that. That’s a lesson I hold dear, and it has proven to be beneficial for me.”

During the New York Fashion Week, the world was buzzing about an argument between Nicki and Cardi that took place at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party. A while later, Cardi explained what had triggered the disagreement with Nicki.

For some time now, she’s been firing numerous criticisms at me, Cardi explained in the Art Issue of W magazine. “I had conversations with her twice previously, and we reached an agreement. However, she persisted in continuing.

The primary cause of the dispute ignited when Cardi perceived that Nicki had supposedly liked and subsequently unliked a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting abilities, an action Nicki has since refuted.

Cardi B expressed, “I had planned to earn millions from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay with my child instead. ‘My daughter means the world to me,’ she added, ‘I’m a fantastic mother.’ It seems unfair for those without children to judge this situation. People often say the party wasn’t the right moment or place, but I won’t scold another artist in public, like at the grocery store or on the street.

The conflict between Kanye and Taylor Swift originally arose in 2009 during the MTV Video Music Awards, when the rapper interrupted her acceptance speech while performing “Stronger.” Despite reconciling and developing friendship years later, their relationship deteriorated again in 2026 following the release of his song “Famous,” which contained references to Taylor Swift.

On the eve of the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye made an adjustment to his Instagram account, choosing to follow solely Taylor. He opted against providing any additional explanations, and Taylor refrained from making a public response to this action.

“I don’t know her.”

The ongoing feud between Mariah and J.Lo dates back over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah, the self-proclaimed Queen of Christmas, was asked to share her thoughts on various singers. When prompted about Jennifer, she simply stated, “I’m not familiar with her.
