However, the road has been rocky for her since her mother and Jodi were sentenced last February. In October, she publicly criticized a Lifetime documentary that presented an alternate portrayal of her family’s story.

Previously known as a YouTuber on the channel “8 Passengers,” both she and her business partner, Jodi, have each been formally accused of six counts of child abuse, which are classified as felonies, by the prosecutor of Washington County in Utah.

Ruby’s spouse, Kevin Franke, publicly declared his innocence regarding the alleged offenses. In an interview with Good Morning America, their attorney, Randy Kester, revealed that they had been separated for a period of 13 months prior to her arrest.

She wrote about punishing her children by beating them and withholding food and water.

Investigators’ conversation with Kevin, recorded following Ruby’s arrest, was made public by the prosecution. During this discussion, Kevin mentioned certain limitations or rules he claimed existed within their household.

Kevin expressed in a recording from TopMob that he found himself under several restrictions. For instance, he had the freedom to leave whenever he wished, but returning required Ruby’s approval. Additionally, he wasn’t allowed to enter the kitchen to eat unless given permission by Ruby, and the upstairs area, where Jodi resided, was off-limits.
