Ruby Franke’s daughter Shari Franke is opening up about her deepest fears.

In her recently published book, titled “The House of My Mother: A Daughter‘s Pursuit for Liberty“, the 21-year-old expressed growing worry that her younger siblings could be at risk before their mother was taken into custody on charges of child abuse in August 2023.

Following the viewing of the 2022 true crime documentary titled “Sins of our Mother“, which focuses on Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell – individuals who were convicted for their roles in the deaths of Vallow’s two children and Daybell’s first wife – Shari opined that, according to the series, both Vallow and Daybell shared similar extreme religious convictions and doomsday prepping tendencies, which she also attributed to Ruby and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt.

In a book acquired by TopMob News, the Brigham Young University alum penned down her thoughts regarding the documentary’s accusations. She found the trajectory of this family into despairingly reminiscent: their fervent faith in the prophecies of Thom Harrison’s “Visions of Glory” and their relentless preoccupation with it, echoing the constant discussions between Ruby and Jodi on the same subject.

Shari admitted that she had very troubling thoughts following the documentary, worrying that Ruby and Jodi, who are currently incarcerated for four consecutive sentences ranging from one to fifteen years, might be similarly disturbed as Lori and Chad.

“If we don’t do something soon,” Shari recalled thinking, “my siblings are going to die.”

Speaking alongside the launch of her newly published memoir (available now), the author shared insights into her personal upbringing, particularly her relationship with her mother.

In a Good Morning America interview on January 7th, she claimed that when she was approximately five or six years old, Ruby was quite active and physical. She described this period as rather frightening.

Shari, who mentioned she distanced herself from her family upon going to college, further explained that she “definitely sensed a change” following her mother’s encounter with Jodi, who happened to be a counselor at Ruby’s institution.

She continued, “I definitely sensed some unusual feelings towards Jodi and Ruby. It just seems utterly uncommon to me for a therapist to live with one of their clients.

In a recent statement, police in Utah reported responding to a call regarding a severely undernourished child. Upon arrival, the child was discovered to be extremely thin and malnourished, with open wounds and tape binding their limbs. The child was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The individual was subsequently recognized as the 12-year-old son of YouTuber Ruby Franke, based on information from a probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC News. Earlier, he had been at the residence of Ruby’s business partner Jodi Hildebrant, and he reportedly escaped through a window before seeking assistance from a neighbor’s house, as stated in the document.

Subsequently, officers conducted a search at a neighboring residence, revealing another child who was similarly emaciated due to malnutrition and required hospitalization, as stated in the official statement.

Officials subsequently disclosed that Ruby’s nine-year-old child was found trembling alone inside a vacant wardrobe in Jodi’s residence, based on data made public by the Washington County Attorney’s Office.

In Utah, Ruby was detained for allegations involving severe child abuse, and Jodi, who founded a life coaching service called ConneXions in 2007, was also implicated. According to some former clients interviewed by NBC News, this service operated like a cult and followed principles similar to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It’s heartening to see them finally taking decisive action. The children are now safe, but the journey ahead is long. We remain hopeful and committed.

Apart from Ruby, her siblings – Ellie Mecham, Bonnie Hoellein, and Julie Deru – also voiced their opinions, expressing that the arrest of the YouTuber was necessary.

Previously, the YouTube personality known as 8 Passengers (real name not specified) and her business partner Jodi found themselves officially accused of six counts of serious child abuse, according to the District Attorney’s office in Washington County, Utah.

Ruby’s husband, Kevin Franke, publicly stated that he is not involved in any of her supposed crimes. In fact, Randy Kester, their lawyer, mentioned on Good Morning America that they had been separated for a period of 13 months prior to her arrest.

The lawyer stated, “He’s a kind soul, incredibly tender-hearted.” Moreover, it’s important to note that there have been no accusations of him physically harming the children or any other individuals.

As reported by NBC News following a domestic relations injunction, it has been made official that Kevin is pursuing a divorce from the Utah-based influencer.

According to TopMob’s confirmation on December 18th, it was acknowledged that Ruby had admitted guilt for four of the charges against her. As reported by the Associated Press, she expressed her profound regret and sadness for her family and children by pleading guilty.

Jodi would also plead guilty to four counts of second-degree felony aggravated child abuse.

The two females received a total of four back-to-back sentences ranging from one to fifteen years each. However, their maximum prison term is set at thirty years as per Utah’s law.

For the last four years, I’ve been guided by advice that has unfortunately led me into a deeply misleading illusion, she admitted in court. My flawed perception of truth was seldom questioned as I preferred to distance myself from those who disagreed with me.

She went on to say, “To my dearest ones, you are an extension of myself. In my perspective, darkness was like light, and what I thought was right, was actually wrong. For you, I would give up anything in this world. I stripped away all that was gentle, secure, and beneficial from you.

Authorities disclosed her disturbing diary excerpts, detailing the abuse she admittedly inflicted on her kids, notably her “Satan-worshipping” teenage boy.

She wrote on July 10, 2023 (her son’s 12th birthday), “He secretly moves about, searching for chances when others aren’t looking and then swiftly goes, as she put it.” If he intends to imitate the Savior, he must be completely devoted, without a hint of deviation or concealment.

She wrote about punishing her children by beating them and withholding food and water.

Investigators’ conversation with Kevin following Ruby’s arrest was made public by prosecutors, containing statements where he discussed purported limitations he encountered at home.

Kevin explained in an audio recording from TopMob, “I had a lot of restrictions imposed on me; for instance, I could leave whenever I wanted, but only return with Ruby’s approval. I wasn’t allowed in the kitchen to eat until she gave me permission, and the upstairs, where Jodi was, was off-limits. Essentially, I couldn’t access my own home’s upper floor anymore. Moreover, Ruby controlled the conditions of our interactions, deciding when we could communicate, which made things difficult for me.
