Among Xbox’s three flagship exclusive series, it’s only Halo that hasn’t been released on PlayStation, but a rumor suggests this might not be the case for much longer.
Data miner @grunt.api says they have discovered evidence of a Halo game on PS Store’s backend:
It’s been announced that a new Halo game will be arriving (soon) on PlayStation. The information was discovered through the retail API of Sony’s online marketplace.
When asked about the game, the data analyst clarifies that it isn’t Halo: The Master Chief Collection or Halo Infinite.
At Xbox’s latest event, Phil Spencer hinted at the potential comeback of an iconic game, which seems to be none other than Halo.
For some time now, there has been a great deal of speculation concerning the launch of the series on PS5. The most popular assumption is that it will involve a separate release of the original game, Halo: Combat Evolved, much like how Microsoft plans to release Gears of War: Remastered.
As a gamer, I can’t blindly believe what a single source says, but considering Xbox’s progression and the buzz surrounding it, it seems like only a matter of time before I’m cruising through levels chasing Grunts in a Warthog on PlayStation 5.
Are you looking forward to Halo transitioning into something new? And when do you think this change might occur? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
