Rumour: New Bungie Game Targets State of Play Reveal, Out on PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch

In just under 12 hours, we’ll witness the upcoming State of Play livestream, sparking plenty of buzz and guesswork about what Sony might unveil. Games like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Lost Soul Aside, and Hell Is Us seem almost certain, but a new rumor circulates that another title from Bungie could be revealed.

In simpler terms, the ongoing project at Bungie, known internally as Gummy Bears within PlayStation Studios, is being handled by a different team. As suggested by Spanish leaker Vandal, this upcoming project, inspired by Super Smash Bros., is expected to be officially unveiled during tonight’s State of Play broadcast. There are rumors that it will be available on PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The upcoming Sony title that will be released on Nintendo Switch will be the second such game from Sony, with LEGO Horizon Adventures being the first. This announcement is expected during a separate Nintendo Direct presentation that’s slated for later this month, which is different from the previously confirmed reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for April 2nd, 2025.

Based on recent rumors, it appears that a new game called “Gummy Bears” is being developed, and it seems to resemble popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games like DOTA 2 and League of Legends. This upcoming title is expected to have classes such as Attack, Defense, and Support, and may even include movable towers. The game appears to be designed with a younger demographic in mind, featuring a damage system that pushes characters back further based on the percentage of their current health. In a way, this damage mechanism echoes how Super Smash Bros. operates.
