Developer Eidos Montreal, known for creating Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, has reportedly been proposing a new Deus Ex game to multiple potential partners and publishers, but so far, none have agreed to the project.
According to Insider Gaming, it appears that the smaller studio has consistently pitched this project, but prospective publishers are hesitant to invest in Deus Ex as a brand due to current financial constraints.
According to the report, the Deus Ex title you’re referring to isn’t the same project that was scrapped following Embracer Group’s layoffs of nearly 100 Eidos Montreal staff last year. Instead, it appears that the developer is attempting to revitalize the franchise with a new approach to the property.
In a world post-Cyberpunk 2077, one might have anticipated another opportunity for Deus Ex to resurface. If Eidos Montreal is genuinely making an effort to reboot the series – considering the previous cancellation – it’s evident they hold faith in its promise.
Let’s first observe if anything develops from this situation, but are you open to playing more Deus Ex? Go ahead and share your thoughts or insights about it in the comment area beneath.
