On May 9th, the developers of “RuneScape: Dragonwilds” conducted a live Twitch stream to unveil future updates for their Early Access game. Originally planned for fans to watch later, technical difficulties prevented the creation of a recording (VOD). Consequently, those who couldn’t watch it live will have to wait until community moderator Mod Doom posts a recap blog next week. Fortunately, attendees are sharing highlights, and from what I gather, it seems promising!
In a recent live broadcast on Twitch featuring Jagex’s community manager Mod Doom, we got a sneak peek into the game’s future. However, unfortunately, the recording has disappeared and can’t be found for replay. But don’t worry, an official blog post and vlog detailing the highlights from the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Twitch stream will be published next week. In the meantime, let’s go over the major announcements from the live stream to avoid feeling left out until next week’s update.
Next week, Mod Doom will receive a blog post and video log on Twitch, providing further details. Hang in there for now, we’ve got this situation covered!

Biggest New Features Headed to RuneScape: Dragonwilds In Future Updates
Due to the updates provided by fans on our Dragonwilds Discord channel, we have a clear understanding of the details discussed during the live stream. This will help keep fans engaged until the formal blog post is published next week. Although many aspects of the conversation reinforced information already shared in previous Q&As, there are some intriguing insights for those eagerly awaiting new content in the game.
Regarding when the next significant content update for Dragonwilds is due, it’s still a bit of a wait. The last update was the minor patch 0.7.3, released on May 2nd. Mod Doom has clarified that the 0.8 patch might not be a major content overhaul but will incorporate various enhancements currently being tested. These improvements include new base building components, engine upgrades, Velgar event modifications, and numerous stability and bug fixes. Following this, the 0.9 update will primarily concentrate on improving the user experience for controller players when playing Dragonwilds.
In case you couldn’t catch our stream tonight, here’s a peek at our plan. A gentle nudge to recall our upcoming events this year and our commitment to you. We’re simply setting sail on the journey that is the growth, improvement, and expansion of the RuneScape Dragonwilds world…

It seems like the primary wave of fresh content isn’t expected until the 0.10 Fellhollow update. This significant update will introduce a new location and most of the content that was previously outlined in the Dragonwilds roadmap. To clarify, Mod Doom has emphasized that everything on the roadmap above is projected to be released in 2025. Therefore, while the 0.10 update may seem distant, fans can look forward to it potentially being rolled out sometime this year.
From my perspective as an enthusiastic player, I’m eagerly anticipating the introduction of new content. Mithril is set to become the next level for armor upgrades, with Steel following suit at a later stage. In terms of leisure activities, farming and fishing—two aspects that have always found a home in RPGs like RuneScape: Dragonwilds, are being planned for future game updates. New updates are projected to roll out approximately every three months, so we might not see the 0.9 version with its controller overhaul and ranged skill tree until after June’s 0.8 update. Regarding those larger multiplayer servers mentioned in a previous player survey, it seems that there hasn’t been any recent news on their development yet.
In the course of the live broadcast, Mod Doom also verified that the 1.0 update signifies the complete launch of the game. However, “complete launch” doesn’t imply there will be no further updates; it simply means the game is prepared for a full-fledged release at that point in time. This information is particularly exciting for console gamers, as the console version of RuneScape: Dragonwilds won’t become available until after the conclusion of Early Access. As we draw closer to version 1.0, so do we edge towards a potential console release for RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Dragonwilds’ events. Until then, players might anticipate substantial content enhancements in version 0.10, while version 0.8, scheduled for release next month, could bring some minor improvements and bug fixes.
