Russell T Davies confirms when Doctor Who Prom will air on TV

As a lifelong Whovian, I can hardly contain my excitement at the news that Russell T Davies has confirmed the Doctor Who Prom will be gracing our screens this festive season! Having grown up with Murray Gold’s enchanting music setting the tone for countless adventures, this is a dream come true for me and many other fans.

Russell T Davies has announced that Doctor Who enthusiasts will soon be able to watch the BBC Proms special episode of the series, featuring music composed by Murray Gold on television.

Yesterday’s event was the Doctor Who Prom, held at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday, August 26th. The hilarious Catherine Tate was the host for the evening, after she revived her famous character Donna Noble in last year’s 60th anniversary specials.

According to the BBC, this event showcases the powerful music composed by Murray Gold for the series, played by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The Prom includes scenes from the series displayed on large screens, stunning lighting effects, and a variety of special guests – and indeed, there will be some monstrous surprises!

Davis posted a picture he snapped at the Royal Albert Hall on his private Instagram account, announcing there when fans of Doctor Who can watch the special occasion right from their living rooms.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my sheer delight over the Doctor Who Proms! It was an evening brimming with happiness, joy, laughter, thrills, and songs that echoed through the air. To top it all off, there was a surprising twist at the end! Mark your calendars for Christmas in the UK, as this spectacle will grace our TV screens then. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who made this event possible.

For enthusiasts of Doctor Who, the upcoming holiday season promises a thrilling experience. They can eagerly anticipate not only the annual Christmas special titled “Joy to the World,” penned by Steven Moffat, but also the Prom broadcast.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to hint at some exciting news: “I can’t reveal too much, but work on it has started, and trust me, it’s going to be wild! This Christmas special will blow your mind – it’s one of the craziest ones you’ll ever witness. It’s grand, taking us to places we wouldn’t expect. Stay tuned!”

“And it’s a great story of who the Doctor is when he’s alone.”

Actress Nicola Coughlan, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Derry Girls, has been confirmed as a guest star in an upcoming episode. This comes after Millie Gibson’s heartfelt departure from the TARDIS in the season 14 finale of Doctor Who titled “Empire of Death.”

Doctor Who is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
