Kennedy stated, “We’re concentrating on events after the ninth installment,” he said. “Shawn’s story within the ‘Star Wars’ universe will unfold post-nine, likely five or six years later. The Mandalorian series, however, is distinct due to its exploration of a different era in the New Republic. We’re also developing other stories in that time period. So, currently, we’re mainly focusing on that area because, with The Mandalorian, we have a clear understanding of its direction. And this new storyline features mostly new characters. Some characters from the sequel saga might reappear, but generally speaking, these are fresh faces.
Daisy Ridley’s character Rey from Star Wars has been officially confirmed to have her own movie following the storyline of The Rise of Skywalker. Meanwhile, the status of Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega regarding potential returns is uncertain. However, it seems plausible for Rey to appear alongside Ryan Gosling’s character in Shawn Levy’s upcoming Star Wars film.
