Ryan Reynolds Makes First Appearance Since Blake Lively’s Lawsuit

Ryan Reynolds is making time for a marvelous night out.

The actor from Deadpool made his first public outing since Blake Lively’s ongoing legal dispute with her It Ends With Us costar and director, Justin Baldoni, was announced. He attended the National Board Awards in New York City on January 7.

At the event for the National Board of Review, which was hosted by Willie Geist, Ryan opted for a smart light gray suit with dark gray lapels, paired with a crisp white button-down shirt. He completed his stylish look by wearing black dress shoes and a pair of fashionable brown reading glasses.

However, the 48-year-old, who is a father to James (10), Inez (8), Betty (5), and Olin (born in 2023) with Blake, wasn’t merely making a casual appearance to display his stylish attire. Ryan also had the opportunity to meet up with the cast of Wicked, taking photos with Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and director John M. Chu. Additionally, he was on stage during the event, presenting an award alongside fellow presenters Robert Pattinson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Sofia Coppola.

A week before Ryan was due to attend the National Board Awards, Blake initiated a formal lawsuit against Justin. This was in response to claims that he had caused her emotional distress, mental suffering, lost income, and other damages. These allegations were made in court documents, as reported by TopMob News at the time. The dispute stemmed from their collaboration on the 2024 movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel, “It Ends With Us,” where Justin directed and starred alongside Blake.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find it crucial to share recent developments that have surfaced within the entertainment industry. In late 2024, during my exploration of the events surrounding the filming of a movie, I uncovered allegations made by the actress who starred in “A Simple Favor.” She claimed that Justin subjected her to sexual harassment on set and orchestrated a damaging smear campaign intended to tarnish her reputation. These accusations were laid out in an extensive 70-page legal complaint she submitted to the California Civil Rights Department.

Regarding Justin, who refutes all claims made against him, he sued The New York Times for a $250 million lawsuit concerning an article they published that centered around Blake’s 70-page legal complaint. In the court documents obtained by TopMob News, Justin alleged that the newspaper disregarded journalistic practices and ethical standards previously upheld by such a respected publication. He claimed they used falsified and manipulated texts and deliberately omitted texts that contradicted their chosen public relations narrative.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share some insights on Justin’s ongoing legal battle with The New York Times. In a conversation with TopMob News, Blake’s lawyer stated that the accusations made against The New York Times are untrue. Importantly, this lawsuit doesn’t affect or modify any of the claims presented in Ms. Lively’s complaint to the California Civil Rights Department, or the federal complaint she filed today.

And the New York Times echoed the sentiment.

As a diligent reporter, I can assure you that our story was thoroughly and ethically compiled. On December 31, this fact was made clear through a statement we shared on the New York Times’ website. The foundation of our report lies in the extensive review of thousands of original documents, such as the text messages and emails, which we have accurately and extensively quoted within the article itself.

The New York Times added, “We plan to vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”

To see how more stars reacted to Blake’s legal complaint against Justin, keep reading.

Following Blake Lively’s legal allegations against Justin Baldoni, her It Ends With Us costar and director, for sexual harassment during filming and later participating in a negative campaign against her (which he has since disputed through his attorney) – Colleen Hoover, the author of the book upon which the movie is based, extended a message to the actress.

On her Instagram Stories December 21st, Colleen expressed, “Ever since our first encounter, @blakelively, you’ve consistently been truthful, considerate, encouraging, and patient. Thank you for always staying true to yourself. May you never alter your genuine nature or wither.

Blake’s sister, fellow actress Robyn Lively, also weighed in.

Robyn posted on Instagram on Dec. 23, recommending everyone to thoroughly read the New York Times article. She was referring to the NYT piece which highlights Blake’s complaint submitted to the California Civil Rights Department. This article exposes those responsible for the cruel and deceitful smear campaign that aimed to discredit her sister.

The actress who played the lead role in Teen Witch later pointed out that it mirrors, or sheds light on, the alleged incidents Blake encountered while filming It Ends With Us.

The director of Blake’s movie “A Simple Favor” also stood up for her, writing on December 22nd: “I’ve made two films with Blake and all I can say is she’s incredibly professional, imaginative, collaborative, gifted, and kind. She didn’t deserve the slanderous campaign against her. It’s terrible that she had to go through this.

On December 22nd, the comedian expressed her backing for the ex-star of Gossip Girl by posting on her Instagram Story, “I trust Blake.

A short while after Blake’s grievance became known, the founder of Goop posted a picture of Blake Brown’s hair business (The Town) on her Instagram Story, stating, “Now on my Christmas wish list.

Friends and co-stars of Blake from ‘Blake’s BFFs’ and ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’, shared a collective message on Instagram on December 22, expressing their support for her. They declared that they stand together with her in solidarity as she bravely confronts the alleged attempts aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

Bart Johnson expressed a heartfelt support for his sister-in-law in the comment area beneath an Instagram post by the New York Times, discussing the submission of a report and their internal probe into the backstage chaos.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve always been in the know. I remember when her complaints were lodged during the filming of that iconic show. The one and only High School Musical alum, who tied the knot with Robyn, Blake’s sister, was the one who penned those words. It wasn’t a secret, it was on record, hidden from the public eye until the conflict escalated.

The cast stopped following him for a reason, and it wasn’t just about music or dance. If you’re thinking of joining the bandwagon of ignorance, I urge you to read this article first. His PR team was nothing short of brilliant, manipulative, and effective. They spun a tale that was as gross as it was captivating.

To truly understand the depth of the situation, read the article, their text message exchanges, and his PR campaign strategy. He tried to bury her by any means necessary. We’re all imperfect, but the public was deceived in this case.

Later, he commented on Baldoni, saying, “He’s a phony. He dons the role of a hero, complete with man bun. He employs all the popular slogans and jargon for his podcasts. It’s all insincere. It’s just an act. And many were deceived by it for years. Go back and watch his videos again with a skeptical eye and observe him lavishing praise on himself, feigning humility and self-deprecation. What a show he put on.

Shawn Levy, often working alongside Ryan Reynolds, posted about the New York Times examination of the defamatory campaign, commenting on Instagram Stories: “I’m honored to consider Blake Lively a friend.

In the wake of the public disclosure about Lively’s filing, Amber Heard took time to contemplate her own ordeal of receiving unyielding hostility online during her ex Johnny Depp’s defamation case against her.

In a statement to NBC News on December 23rd, the star of Aquaman put it this way: “Social media mirrors the old adage ‘Falsehood spreads faster than truth.’ I’ve witnessed it myself. It’s both shocking and damaging.

Brandon Sklenar, the actor who portrayed Blake’s romantic interest Atlas Corrigan in “It Ends With Us”, delivered a straightforward and encouraging message of support.

On December 23rd, he posted a screenshot of the former Gossip Girl star’s full complaint against Baldoni on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by a link and the caption, “Please, for the sake of all things good, read this.” He also tagged her with a heart emoticon.

Jenny Slate, who portrayed Baldoni’s sibling and was also a close friend of Blake’s character in the movie, voiced her opinions regarding the “troubling” accusations.

In response to allegations about Blake Lively’s reputation, her colleague and friend spoke out in support, stating on December 23rd to Today: “I stand by Blake as she confronts those accused of harming her standing. Blake is a strong leader, a faithful friend, and a pillar of emotional support for me and many others who admire and care for her deeply.

The former star of Parks and Recreation went on to express that what has been disclosed about the assault on Blake is incredibly grim, unsettling, and entirely menacing. I applaud my friend, I appreciate her courage, and I stand firmly with her.

In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram Story on December 23rd, the co-star who appears with Lively in the upcoming sequel to “A Simple Favor“, expressed his affection for her and admitted that he shared her “pain” during their filming sessions earlier this year.
