S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Guide – How to Make Coupons Quickly

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more than a few apocalyptic landscapes, I can confidently say that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a game that truly tests your survival instincts and wallet management skills. With its gritty atmosphere and punishing economic model, it’s a game where every coupon counts.

After more than a decade of development, the much-anticipated game “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl” has finally launched its open world for players to delve into and search for valuable items. Similar to other games in this genre, “STALKER 2” features a strict economic system where cash is scarce, and top-tier items are priced exorbitantly.

This guide for “STALKER 2” offers a collection of effective strategies to accumulate coupons swiftly and wisely, along with continuous tips on potential exploits or glitches.

Side Quests

To ensure you don’t miss out on any opportunities, aim to finish all additional missions or tasks that pop up during the main storyline. These side missions often become inaccessible as the game progresses, but they offer a convenient and less challenging way to earn extra money.

Some side quests are repeatable, and can be grinded with a short interval between runs.

Loot Stashes

Keep an eye out for marked spots on your map where you might find hidden caches, and don’t forget to search them for their valuable contents. The items you collect from these discoveries are usually highly sought-after by merchants. Also, remember to retrieve any PDAs from the bodies as they may lead you to additional caches.

Anomalies And Artifacts

Artifacts are worth finding and can usually be located near groups of unusual findings, so remember to use your Echo Detector in the surrounding area to locate them; the echo will flash blue when an artifact is discovered, and the beeping sound will become faster too. To avoid damaging your armor and having to pay for repairs later, it’s a good idea to remove it before exploring the area. If you come across duplicate or harmful artifacts, consider selling them off instead.

Offsetting Encumbrance

With inventory management comes weight considerations, and this is where the previously mentioned artifacts can come in handy. Equip any artifacts that help reduce that encumbrance, thus allowing you to drag even more valuable loot back home.

Weapon Sorting

As a gamer, I always make it a point to grab yellow-damaged weapons over red-broken ones when looting. This way, I can get the most bang for my buck when it comes to selling them to traders. Red weapons are useless unless repaired first (and even then, they’re only sellable to Ragman at the Rostok base), and they become a drain on resources after repair. On the other hand, yellow weapons can be sold as-is for some money, and may fetch a higher price once repaired, though the profit isn’t usually substantial in that case.

Choose Your Trading Partners

In general, it’s best to sell your goods only to established traders who run their own businesses, as they tend to offer the highest value. Selling to other non-player characters often means receiving less in return.

Do Not Hoard Consumables

During your stay in the Zone, you’ll find an abundance of food and medical supplies, way beyond what you could possibly use. Don’t hesitate to get rid of surplus items in exchange for coupons.

Farm Respawn Locations

In other words, empty spaces where adversaries appear will reappear following their defeat. If your last loot collection was exceptionally rewarding, think about going back to gather more, but wait for a brief period first.

Economize Repair Costs

In STALKER 2, the main expense is repair costs. Each journey into the Zone essentially involves calculating the profit left after deducting the cost of repairs for your damaged equipment from the value of the loot you’ve gathered. One method to reduce these expenses is by using the reliable starter Makarov PM/Skif’s Pistol, as it has minimal durability loss or decay, making it affordable to maintain over time. With most human enemies, a headshot results in an immediate kill, and the same goes for weaker mutants.

Maintain a cheaper-to-repair set of armor for coupon farming runs.

Unload Magazines

If you don’t feel comfortable handling weapons, at least remove their ammunition. Each bullet has worth, and every bit counts. Weapons discarded on the ground should first be picked up, but you can instantly unload those on bodies or inside containers using the menu.

Infinite Money Exploit

Having extra supplies like ammo from a past tip could help you take advantage of an ongoing trading glitch. Go see a trader like Hamster in Zalissya and start a trade. Look through your items for something with a high resale value, such as a large amount of ammo, but other consumables like drinks or grenades will work too if that’s all you have. Make sure the trader doesn’t already have the same item in their inventory. If they do, buy up every single one of those items from them to increase your stack, which will further boost the profitability of this exploit.

  • Drag the stack from your ‘Inventory’ section into the ‘Sell’ section
  • In the foreground there will be a new pop-up titled ‘Sell’: hit ‘Sell all’ or ‘F’
  • Note the value of the sale in the ‘You Get’ section at the bottom, but do NOT press ‘Confirm’ nor ‘F’
  • Now drag the stack back from the ‘Sell’ section into your ‘Inventory’ section
  • The item will snap back to the ‘Sell’ window in the background
  • In the foreground there will be a new pop-up titled ‘Return’: ignore it
  • Note the value of the sale in the ‘You Get’ section at the bottom has jacked up sharply
  • Click ‘Confirm’ (do NOT use the ‘F’ keybind at this point) in the ‘You Get’ section, and the K coupons will be added to your ‘Inventory’
  • The foreground pop-up ‘Return’ dialog will still be active: hit ‘Return all’ or ‘F’ to recover your stack as well
  • Rinse and repeat to your heart’s content

Those are all the ways to quickly make (and save) money in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
