Sabrina Carpenter‘s new record has left quite an impression.
Following the controversy over the supposedly “too sexual” cover art of her upcoming album, “Man’s Best Friend,” the artist known as “The Taste Singer” playfully addressed the criticism with a witty remark.
On June 11th, I came across a post where a user reshared an intriguing album cover photo. The cover showcases Sabrina in a captivating pose: on all fours, sporting black heels and a chic, bodycon dress with a ribbon detail, one hand playfully resting on the knee of a mysterious figure dressed in a sleek black suit, who’s only half visible but holding onto a lock of Sabrina’s hair. Accompanying the image, the user posed an intriguing question, “Is there more to her than just her image?
Sabrina clapped back with a response shortly after, replying, “Girl yes and it is goooooood.”
On other occasions as well, the ex-Disney star has voiced her opinions regarding those persistently accusing her of prioritizing sex in her music. Just recently this month, the actress from “Girl Meets World” addressed her critics, acknowledging their role in fueling her fame.
In a conversation with Rolling Stone (published on June 12), Sabrina expressed amusement: “It’s always so intriguing when people grumble.” They say, “She just sings about this,” but those are the songs that have gained popularity. Evidently, you can’t get enough of sex; it seems to be your fascination.
The 26-year-old backed up her claim with evidence, specifically by referencing popular videos from her Short n’ Sweet Tour rendition of “Juno.” In these performances, she would adopt a unique pose associated with a different sexual position after singing the lyrics, “Have you ever tried this one?” This is how she supported her argument.
Sabrina added, “Those instances are part of my performance, not just the ‘Juno’ poses. There are numerous other significant moments, yet only those get shared and discussed each evening. I can’t dictate that, though.

Many people don’t share the same enthusiasm as Sabrina Carpenter for her fondness for lacy outfits and suggestive lyrics. In fact, music producer Pete Waterman famously criticized her live performances as being quite “inappropriate” or “offensive.
In his statement made in January 2025, Waterman expressed that women have gained all their liberties and rights. He further suggested that while they had fought hard to achieve what they have, it seems to him they are carelessly forfeiting them now.
And in her response, the Girl Meets World alum did not hold back.
In a recent conversation with The Sun on Sunday, I made it clear from the get-go: if you’re not comfortable with a woman who embraces and expresses her sexuality boldly, then my performances may not be for you.
She went on to say, “Female artists have faced public shaming for a long time. In the 2000s, it was Rihanna, in the 1990s, Britney Spears, and in the 1980s, Madonna – and now it’s my turn.
To those labeling Sabrina’s popular “Juno” postures and explicit lyrics as “lazy,” Sabrina refuted their “outdated” views instead.
The pop star expressed that the criticism she receives is primarily focused on her expressing her sexuality, be it in her lyrics, clothing choices, or stage performances. She pointed out that when she discusses topics like self-care, body positivity, or heartbreak (common experiences for a 25-year-old), these critics remain silent. Instead, they choose to comment on the more sexually explicit aspects of her performances.
During Sabrina’s “Short n’ Sweet” Tour, some critics on social media voiced their suspicions about whether the “Espresso” singer was actually singing live during her performances.
In a TikTok video from October 2024, someone stated, “I don’t like to admit it, but a performance is made up of 30% lip syncing, 30% backing track, and 40% actual singing.
The Disney alum, however, was quick to shoot down the claims.
Sabrina asserted, “I always perform live without a hitch, and if you have any questions about sound engineering, I can connect you with mine.
It doesn’t take many words for the Grammy nominee to silence her haters.
In June 2024, an online critic expressed their dissatisfaction towards Sabrina’s popular song “Please Please Please.
The user expressed that they had never witnessed anyone drop a second serve as clumsily as this, exclaiming their astonishment with ‘my goodness’, on platform X, which was once known as Twitter.
Once her song hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, she shared images comparing the rankings and added a caption expressing her gratitude: “I’m so incredibly thankful, thankful, thankful.
After facing criticism over her “Feather” music video shot at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (where she had obtained permission to film), Sabrina’s account of events varied from what Msgr. Jamie J. Gigantiello stated in his official communique.
According to the pastor’s declaration from November 2023, the parish failed to adhere to the diocesan policy about filming on church grounds. This policy involves examining the filmed scenes and the script beforehand.
But Sabrina refuted his claims with one simple sentence.
“We got approval in advance,” Sabrina quipped to Variety at the time, “and Jesus was a carpenter.”
During a performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in September 2024, Sabrina hinted that her “Feather” music video controversy had been connected to Eric Adams’ federal probe as mayor at that time. The clergyman who endorsed Sabrina’s “Feather” video, despite claiming ignorance about its questionable content, was subsequently demoted, triggering a wider administrative examination of the parish.
In their report, the diocese suggested to the New York Post that they might have uncovered a link between the Parish and Adams regarding potential business transactions between the pastor and high-ranking officials within Adams’ troubled administration (who are currently facing charges of bribery and wire fraud scheme, which Adams denies).
And to that, Sabrina said, “Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted or…”
