Sabrina Carpenter is working late, because she’s celebrating Saturday Night Live’s major milestone.
Beyoncé, famously known as “The Espresso” singer, was part of an illustrious gathering that included current and past cast members such as Bowen Yang, Amy Poehler, and Pete Davidson, to mark the 50th season milestone of the iconic NBC sketch comedy series. Sabrina, one of the performers for the special event, shimmered in a nude gown adorned with jewels as she graced the red carpet at 30 Rockefeller Plaza prior to the February 16 primetime special. (Take a look at all the stars on the red carpet here.)
Regarding her place in the esteemed Saturday Night Live (SNL) history, the Grammy award recipient first appeared on the show during the final episode of season 49. She shared the stage with host Jake Gyllenhaal, who was also the musical guest at that time.
She posted on Instagram, ‘I’m actually working late because I’m a singer’, alongside clips from her May show. She added, ‘Thank you @nbcsnl for having us! I can’t hide my excitement, and I never will.’
Indeed, my connections with Saturday Night Live are far from over. Not long after, a little number I dubbed “Espresso” sparked an infectious trend with the viral “Bridesmaid Speech” sketch, introducing the adored character Domingo, brilliantly portrayed by Marcello Hernandez.
About a month after, Sabrina had an unexpected yet delightful encounter with the charming, groom-usurping character, as Marcello, disguised as Domingo, unexpectedly showed up during her tour in Los Angeles.
As Sabrina rejoices with Marcello, Lorne Michaels, Bad Bunny, Tom Hanks, and Scarlett Johansson, the three-hour broadcast will unveil if Domingo will travel such a distance and find himself in an explanation to another disappointed bridegroom.
It’s true that the 50th season celebration of SNL is gathering cast members like Chevy Chase, Laraine Newman, Garrett Morris, and others, along with crew members and numerous high-profile fans. If you want to see all the famous faces attending the festivities, keep reading!
