Sabrina Carpenter’s Epic Clapbacks That Leave Haters Speechless!

Sabrina Carpenter is no stranger to ruffling feathers.

The nominee for their first Grammy award, with a total of six nominations prior to the 2025 Grammys taking place on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena, sometimes encounters a handful of critics on social networking sites.

In terms of countering absurdities, Sabrina is particularly sharp with her quick-witted, biting responses.

Before the launch of her “Short ‘n Sweet” album, a social media commentator voiced their disappointment towards her popular song, “Please Please Please.

On X, previously known as Twitter, the user commented, “It’s rare to see someone mess up a second serve this badly,” and added, “Wow.

However, they were taken aback when the song quickly climbed to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in a short period of time. To commemorate this achievement, the artist known as “Espresso” chose to acknowledge that very user on social media with a special shoutout.

Sabrina expressed her gratitude with three exclamations while sharing side-by-side images of the rankings and the user’s comment, stating “I am incredibly thankful, thankful, thankful.

Besides her exceptional singing talent, this former Disney star is recognized as well for her sensual wardrobe, provocative song lyrics, and lively personality. However, it has been discovered that not all admirers appreciate these behaviors, particularly when exhibited within the confines of a church.

Indeed, the 25-year-old opted to film the music video for her hit song “Feather” in Brooklyn, New York’s Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. And though she received permission from the church, the parish’s then-pastor Msgr. Jamie J. Gigantiello claimed that he was “not aware” of the inappropriate content that would be involved—including a slew of religious objects used as props as well as a coffin that read, “RIP B—H.”

Ultimately, the “Bed Chem” singer refuted his claims with arguably the best one-liner of all.

“We got approval in advance,” Sabrina told Variety at the time, “and Jesus was a carpenter.”

From my perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea to appreciate Sabrina Carpenter’s fondness for lace and her lyrics that lean towards the provocative. In fact, music veteran Pete Waterman once found her live performances rather off-putting, even going so far as to label them as questionable or offensive.

In January 2025, as I observed, women have achieved every freedom and right they’ve fought so hard to secure. To me, it seems like they’re unwittingly relinquishing these hard-won gains.

And in her response, the Girl Meets World alum did not hold back.

In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, Sabrina stated plainly, “My stance has consistently been clear: if you’re uncomfortable with a woman who embraces her own sexuality, then my performances might not be for you.

She went on to say, “Female artists have faced shame throughout history. In the 2000s, it was Rihanna, in the 1990s, it was Britney Spears, in the 1980s, it was Madonna – and now it’s my turn.

To those labeling Sabrina’s popular “Juno” poses and explicit lyrics as “lazy,” Sabrina defended against their “outdated” views.

The pop star conveyed that it appears they’re arguing that female performers shouldn’t express their sensuality in their music, fashion, or stage presence,” The Sun was told by her. “It seems those who criticize don’t comment when I discuss self-care, body positivity, or heartbreak, which are common experiences for a 25-year-old. Instead, they focus on the sexual aspects of my performances.

Throughout Sabrina’s “Short n’ Sweet” Tour, some critics on social platforms voiced speculations that the “Espresso” artist might have been miming to pre-recorded music during her performances.

In a TikTok video posted in October 2024, someone commented, “I don’t like to admit it, but a performance is 30% lip-syncing, 30% backing track, and 40% actual singing.

The Disney alum, however, was quick to shoot down the claims.

In a comment, I proudly shared that I perform live at each and every show without exception. If you’re interested, I can put you in touch with my audio team.

It doesn’t take many words for the Grammy nominee to silence her haters.

In June 2024, an online critic expressed their disagreement with Sabrina’s popular song “Please Please Please.

The user posted on X, which used to be Twitter, ‘It’s rare to see someone mess up a simple task like this.’ They added, ‘Oh my, it was quite a struggle!’

Once her song hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, she shared a pair of screenshots showing the rankings and added the comment “ohhhh I’m so thankful, thankful, thankful girl.” to go along with it.

Following criticism over her “Feather” music video, shot inside the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (where she had obtained permission to film), Sabrina’s account of events differed from that presented by Msgr. Jamie J. Gigantiello in his official statement.

According to the parish’s previous pastor, stated in November 2023, they did not adhere to the diocesan policy concerning filming on Church grounds. This policy involves checking both the scenes and the script beforehand.

But Sabrina refuted his claims with one simple sentence.

“We got approval in advance,” Sabrina quipped to Variety at the time, “and Jesus was a carpenter.”

During a performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in September 2024, Sabrina hinted that the “Feather” music video controversy had been connected to then-mayor Eric Adams’ federal investigation at the time. The clergyman who endorsed the “Feather” music video, despite claiming he was unaware of its questionable content, faced demotion, triggering a wider administrative review of the parish.

According to their report, the diocese hinted to the New York Post that there might be a link between the Parish and Adams concerning financial transactions between the pastor and high-ranking officials within Adams’ troubled administration (who are currently facing charges of bribery and wire fraud scheme, to which he has entered a plea of not guilty).

And to that, Sabrina said, “Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted or…”
