Since the conclusion of the Thirteenth Doctor’s tenure, the Master has been missing from Doctor Who. However, Sacha Dhawan, who portrayed the most recent on-screen villain, expresses eagerness for a potential return in a forthcoming episode.
In the upcoming three-part audio series titled “Call Me Master,” produced by Big Finish, Dhawan is set to take on the character of the Doctor’s longtime adversary once again.
Hearing himself speak through a microphone seemed to spark Dhawan’s interest even more. He reacted with great excitement when he learned that his mentor might not have vanished permanently, and was recently hinted at being stuck within the Toymaker’s golden tooth on a popular TV program.
“Oh my God, I’m coming back! I’m coming back!” he laughed.
Here are a few ways you could rephrase that sentence while maintaining its original meaning:
1. “I’ve noticed that Ncuti [Gatwa] has talked about the Master on occasion.”
2. “At times, Ncuti [Gatwa] has brought up the topic of the Master.”
3. “In some instances, Ncuti [Gatwa] has mentioned the Master.”
4. “Occasionally, I’ve seen that Ncuti [Gatwa] discusses the Master.”
5. “There have been times when Ncuti [Gatwa] has referred to the Master.”
It seems like there’s plenty of entertainment available, and it makes me feel a little jealous observing all the enjoyment they’re experiencing in Cardiff.
In the last episode of Doctor Who starring Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor, known as The Power of the Doctor, we find the Master in a grave state, injured severely and abandoned on a desolate, volcanic world. Even though his plans fell apart, leaving him isolated and powerless, the outcome of his story was, as usual for the Master, left shrouded in mystery…
Titled “Call Me Master,” this story unfolds prior to pivotal events and follows Dhawan’s reincarnation embarking on a solo journey, grappling with an existential dilemma. The actor clarifies that the three interconnected narratives – Self-Help by Robert Valentine, The Clifftop Ballad of Georgia Cook, and The Good Life penned by Una McCormack – delve into the Master undergoing introspection and self-examination.
Exploring with the Master is never-ending. The question in my mind was, ‘If I return, what would I like to pursue?’ My curiosity has always been about uncovering the true identity of the Master beyond his public persona. These episodes seem to delve into this very aspect.
Although it appears quite weighty, there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. You’ll find chaos, thrilling escapades, enjoyable moments, and unexpected twists hidden within.
In his suggestion, the first boxset titled “Inner Demons” will delve into some contemporary global issues as well.
“The third episode particularly really taps into that,” he teased.
