As a seasoned manga enthusiast with over two decades of passion for this captivating art form under my belt, I must say that the announcement of the “Sakamoto Days” fanbook titled “Killer Files” has me positively thrilled! The anticipation for this action-comedy series is palpable, and the upcoming anime adaptation only serves to heighten it further.

The popular manga series “Sakamoto Days” by Yuto Suzuki, published in Weekly Shonen Jump, will release its official fanbook, titled “Killer Files,” on February 4th, 2025. This manga made its debut in November 2020. The anime adaptation of the series is scheduled to air on January 11th, 2025, and can be streamed exclusively on Netflix. “Sakamoto Days” is an action-comedy that revolves around Taro Sakamoto, a retired assassin who was once the best in the business. He got married five years ago, but his past continues to haunt him.

Taro, along with his wife, manages a modest shop, but he’s let himself go over the years. He leads a tranquil life with his wife and child. Sadly, trouble pays him an unwelcome visit, forcing him to defend his loved ones once more. Excitingly, the sequel is already set for July 2025, even before its debut on-screen. The manga will release a fanbook on Shueisha’s official website, boasting 208 pages and costing around 1100 yen (approximately $6.97). However, the fanbook is currently only available in Japanese, as an English version has yet to be scheduled for release.

The Sakamoto Days Fanbook “Killer Filles” Is a Must-Have For All Fans

Introducing the Premier Official Fanbook for the Manga Series “Sakamoto Days”! Unlike lengthy series such as “One Piece” or “Naruto,” it’s quite rare to find numerous fanbooks for fresh and concise manga series. These books are valuable collectibles that offer fans a chance to delve deeper into their beloved stories. They contain extra content, exclusive insights, and behind-the-scenes info about the storylines and characters of the chosen manga. Killer Files is expected to feature detailed character profiles, offering in-depth information on the characters’ histories, skills, connections, and fascinating tidbits not explored within the main story.

Beyond the standard content, you could potentially acquire additional sketches and illustrations from the creator of Sakamoto Days, Yuto Suzuki. Some editions even offer fascinating tidbits about the series, such as explanations for hidden references, interpretations on specific plot points, and commentary. There’s a wealth of engaging information that you wouldn’t want to overlook. However, it’s worth noting that the release date for the English version of this fanbook has yet to be announced. This delay might span several months or even years until it becomes available in English. For instance, even a widely popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen took approximately three years to release an English version of its official fanbook. The English edition was published in April 2024, while the original Japanese version came out in March 2021 through Viz Media.

Thus far, the manga has released a total of 19 volumes, with the 20th volume scheduled to drop on January 4th, 2024. Each installment is serialized weekly, and all 195 chapters are accessible through the Manga Plus app. The much-awaited anime adaptation of “Sakamoto Days” is in the works, spearheaded by TMS Entertainment studio. Masaki Watanabe is directing the project, while Yo Moriyama lends his talent to the character designs. In all, there will be 22 episodes in this series, tentatively divided into two parts with approximately 11 episodes per part.
