Salem's Lot: First Official Looks at New Stephen King Adaptation Released

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a special affinity for Stephen King adaptations, I must say the announcement of the upcoming release of Salem’s Lot has filled me with an exhilarating mix of anticipation and nostalgia. Having grown up watching both the original miniseries and devouring countless horror games based on King’s works, this latest adaptation promises to be a thrilling ride.

Warner Bros cleared up growing doubt on Tuesday, announcing they will indeed release ‘Salem’s Lot’. Originally intended for a theater premiere, it was disclosed towards the end of last year that the movie would be moved to Max instead. With no further updates since then, fans of this classic Stephen King adaptation began to worry due to Warner Bros’ practice of shelving completed films to claim them as tax deductions.

As a thrilled admirer, I was captivated to find that a comprehensive feature about my beloved project, starring the talented Lewis Pullman, graced the pages of Vanity Fair yesterday. The magazine unveiled the first glimpses of our film in their latest issue.

Despite the movie being released directly on streaming platforms, director Gary Dauberman asserts that it carries an atmosphere similar to a classic drive-in creature flick.

In an interview, Dauberman described a scene as being like an intense rush of sugar, and he thought it perfectly captured the essence of a classic drive-in movie. He added that horror movies are usually more enjoyable when shared with others, so his ideal way to experience this would be by inviting as many people as possible to watch it together on a couch.

Dauberman serves as the director for a movie he penned, with production handled by Atomic Monster, led by James Wan. The upcoming film will star Lewis Pullman in its main role. Confirmed cast members for Salem’s Lot include Makenzie Leigh (known for Gotham and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk), Alfre Woodard (Marvel’s Luke Cage), Bill Camp (Joker), Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones), Jordan Preston Carter (DMZ), Spencer Treat Clark (Unbreakable), John Benjamin Hickey (Gossip Girl), Nicholas Crovetti (Big Little Lies), and Cade Woodward. Rounding out the cast are young actors John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan, and Cade Woodward as Ralph Glick, playing Danny Glick.

Salem’s Lot is scheduled to premiere on Max in October. You can rent the original two-part movie at any place where films are available for purchase.
