Sam Raimi-Produced Horror Movie Don't Move Reveals First Trailer

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie aficionado with over two decades of chilling nights spent in front of the screen, I must say that the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming horror thriller, “Don’t Move,” has me hooked. The eerie vibe it exudes reminds me of those late-night gaming sessions where you know something is lurking around the corner but can’t quite put your finger on what it is.

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming horror movie titled “Don’t Move”. This movie is the debut feature film for directors Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who have previously worked together on projects such as “Delivery: The Beast Within” (2013) and “Sundown” (2022 short), as well as three episodes of “50 States of Fright”. It seems that their collaborative work caught the eye of producer Sam Raimi, known for his work on films like “The Evil Dead” and “Spider-Man”. The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on October 25th. In this film, a woman wakes up after being drugged with a paralytic substance and must race against time to save herself before her body completely shuts down.

The atmosphere of the trailer, narrated by the man who drugged her, shares similarities with “Speak No Evil,” the latest film from James McAvoy. This movie revolves around a couple who find themselves captive and tormented by a seemingly ordinary man who suddenly reveals his cruel side. You can watch the “Don’t Move” trailer here.

The trailer’s editing is skillfully done, creating an impression of numerous intense scenarios that the female protagonist encounters. However, it doesn’t offer much insight into when or how these situations occur within the narrative, only hinting at the thrilling aspects of the plot without revealing significant portions of the actual storyline.

The movie was produced on a modest budget and began filming shortly before last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike. Despite being in production in Bulgaria, they managed to secure a temporary agreement to keep filming. Last November, Signature Entertainment (known for ‘The Ice Road’ and ‘Papillon’) got the U.K./Ireland distribution rights. However, it wasn’t until earlier this year that Netflix secured global distribution rights for the movie, which might be why it took over a year to appear on our screens.

The film titled “Don’t Move” features Finn Wittrock (known for American Horror Story), Kelsey Asbille (from Yellowstone), Moray Treadwell (recognized in The Witcher: Blood Origin) and Daniel Francis (a star in Bridgerton). Directed by Schindler and Netto, the movie was scripted by T.J. Cimfel and David White. This production is a collaboration between Raimi Productions led by Raimi and Zainab Azizi, Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios, Alex Lebovici of Hammerstone Studios, and Sarah Sarandos.

According to the official summary, “A mourning woman finds herself in a remote woodland where she meets a murderer who administers a substance that leaves her immobilized. As her system starts to fail, her struggle to stay alive commences.

Don’t Move arrives on Netflix on October 25th.
