Read on to learn further about what Sam Vanderpump went through as Made in Chelsea continues on E4.

What happened to Sam Vanderpump?

In the initial episode of Made in Chelsea’s 29th season, Sam shared details about his health situation, revealing that he had been experiencing a prolonged period of severe illness over the past few months.

In January, it was revealed by MailOnline that a favorite on Made in Chelsea had come close to death due to his liver and kidneys failing, leading to sepsis.

In an interview, he shared: “I genuinely believed I was on the verge of death. My body felt like it couldn’t handle it any longer, which was absolutely terrifying. It was a nightmare. The doctor informed me that my liver and kidneys were failing. This news left me in tears.

In an interview on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas, Sam provided more insights into his unexpected predicament: “It seemed to appear out of the blue. To clarify, I was in peak health, absolutely no issues at all. Regularly cycling around 15 to 20 kilometers daily.

By early December, I fell ill with the flu, which triggered an asthma attack. Since then, I haven’t fully regained my health, particularly around the 6th of December. I’ve been going in and out of the hospital due to strange back pains, and there’s a sense that something isn’t quite normal with my condition.

He added: “I’ve always had a genetic condition, specifically hepatic congenital liver fibrosis and polycystic kidney disease. These conditions have been with me since birth, yet they’ve never hindered me in any way.

It seemed to Sam that his body wasn’t healing from the sickness in the usual way, but it wasn’t until Alice Yaxley, his fiancée, expressed worries and took him to the hospital that they discovered what was happening.

Sam stated, “Upon arriving at the hospital, even the doctors were puzzled, remarking something like, ‘What brings you here? You’ve been frequently treated for asthma.’ Then they drew my blood, and when they returned, the doctor appeared shocked because he exclaimed, ‘Your CRP levels are over 400, suggesting potential liver and kidney failure.’

Gladly, I’ve managed to overcome sepsis and am thriving, and it’s clear to anyone watching Made in Chelsea that I’m blissfully continuing my journey with Alice as we step into our engaged life.
