Over the weekend, the cinema re-release of the movie is predicted to be among the most prosperous re-releases since the 1977 original “Star Wars” film returned to theaters in 1997. During a screening at Los Angeles’s El Capitan Theater, two major stars from “Revenge of the Sith,” namely Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen, made an unexpected appearance. According to reports, they attended a special 20th anniversary showing of the film.
In 2005, Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the movie, graced the stage at the historic theater, brandishing a red lightsaber. He shared with the audience his abundance of joyful recollections from filming. Noticing numerous lightsabers among the crowd, he remarked, “I notice a lot of lightsabers here. I see a lot of red lightsabers, and honestly, my favorite lightsaber color is red, being Darth Vader’s.
“This Party Ain’t Over”
As I basked in the afterglow of my performance as Anakin Skywalker, a voice from off-stage halted me, saying, “Hold it, Skywalker! This party’s far from over.” Then, with a thunderous applause, my co-star announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the one and only, Samuel L. Jackson!
20 years on, it’s hard to believe we’re still as cool and lively as ever, Jackson started off. I haven’t crossed paths with Hayden for a while, but I’m overjoyed to be back, catch up with him, and see all of you together. A big thank you to each one of you. We had an incredible time filming in Australia, just hanging out and having fun.
In a lighthearted moment, the actor who plays the character, Jackson, fondly recalled his final scene as the Jedi Master Mace Windu. In this scene, Windu attempts to arrest Palpatine but is ultimately killed and thrown out of a window in Coruscant. Jackson joked, “I hope you appreciate the work put into this and enjoy watching me fight Palpatine using my ‘I move almost backwards’ style. Before my untimely departure. Just to clarify – Mace Windu continues to live!” The duo concluded their on-stage chat at the El Capitan by saying together, “May the Force be with you.
