Sarah Jessica Parker’s Heartbreaking Confession About Big’s Death

And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker had to say goodbye.

3 years following the debut of “And Just Like That”, with John “Big” Preston (Chris Noth) passing away in Carrie Bradshaw’s arms, the actress revisited the significant narrative twist that marked a fresh start for the HBO Max revival, now moving into its third season.

I must admit, letting go was an incredibly challenging ordeal on both personal and professional levels, as I shared in an exclusive chat with Bruce Bozzi on The TopMob News Sitdown, airing tonight at 11 p.m. It’s not just a minor vein; it’s a major artery that I found myself desperately clinging to.

Over the course of six seasons on “Sex and the City”, along with its two follow-up films, a 60-year-old individual expressed their feelings to friend Bruce Bozzi, saying, “It was truly heartbreaking to part ways from that experience.

She went on to say, “I didn’t really need it for my personal health or happiness, but what an amazing tale to share for many years!

Even though Parker concurs with certain online criticisms regarding how Carrie and Big concluded their relationship, she remains spellbound by its grandeur.

Parker shares some of the doubts raised online about Carrie and Big’s ending, but she still finds herself captivated by the incredible aspect of their romance.

In my professional opinion, the experience was quite the rollercoaster ride – an intriguing blend of enchantment and chaos, romance and ruination, destruction and growth. It wasn’t always perfect, but it certainly had its magical moments, teaching me valuable lessons along the way.

Parker found it particularly challenging to accept Big’s demise since it was uncertain whether John Corbett’s character, Aiden Shaw, would make an appearance in ‘And Just Like That’. (It was later revealed that Corbett returned to his role as Carrie’s long-term love interest in the show’s second season.)

“It just felt really untethered,” Parker added. “It was really sad to say goodbye to that.”

Apart from that, Parker cherishes numerous happy recollections from filming Sex and the City, a series whose initial release dates back nearly 27 years.

Parker mentioned that the original cast, comprising Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall, were incredibly fortunate to have loved their job so deeply. Looking back, they feel no regret about it.

She added, “We laughed a lot and we worked really hard.”

And Just Like That… season three premieres on HBO Max May 29.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the countless happy moments I experienced while being part of the Sex and the City film set, nearly a quarter of a century after its initial premiere.

Parker revealed that the original cast members were incredibly fortunate as they genuinely cherished their job. They are no longer dwelling on past regrets but moving forward with satisfaction. (Includes: Parker shared that the original cast members were very lucky because they truly enjoyed their job; instead of looking back with regret, they are now content.)

She added, “We laughed a lot and we worked really hard.”

In exactly one month from now, on May 29th, season three of “And Just Like That” will debut on HBO Max. For those eager to catch all the style statements in the series, keep reading!

In the debut of “And Just Like That…”, one of Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) early choices to wear was also an accessory she became famous for – her royal blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi silk stilettos from her wedding. However, these shoes carried a much more poignant and bitter memory after Carrie discarded them in the shower while mourning the death of Big (Chris Noth).

Previously, Danny Santiago, one of the show’s co-costume designers, clarified to TopMob News that a certain element was crucial for the narrative. They felt it completed the circle regarding the shoe’s history, serving as a fitting farewell by incorporating it into the storyline.

In the same melancholic setting, Carrie dons another vintage and blue accessory – a flower pin on her coat. However, the wardrobe department decided to subtly alter the brooch, as Santiago explained, “The need for this change came about due to the events unfolding, so we dyed the petals of silk. Yet, the one she is wearing in the scene is the original archived flower that belongs to her.

As a lifestyle expert, I can’t help but marvel at the significance of Sarah Jessica Parker’s personal wardrobe collection, particularly her iconic black studded piece from one of our beloved 2008 films. Remarkably, this fashion statement initially graced Santiago’s thrift store finds before being gifted to Parker after filming concluded.

In the spirit of honoring our cherished past, the costume department recognized Parker’s diligence in preserving a vast majority of her on-screen attire for the series and subsequent movies. Santiago, speaking with great admiration, shared, “We were so fortunate that Sarah Jessica has an archive of almost everything.”

The allure of these timeless pieces lies not only in their beauty but also in the deep affection they evoke from fans. These items have become beloved characters themselves within our cinematic universe, and we thought it would be a delightful touch to reintroduce them in the reboot. The opportunity for viewers to see, appreciate, and cherish these pieces once more was not one we wanted to pass up.

In the third episode, the iconic sequined purple handbag – initially introduced in Fendi’s Fall/Winter 1999-2000 collection and memorably exclaimed as a “Baguette” by Carrie during her mugging in SoHo – made its reappearance. Carrie showcased this signature accessory when she and her friends attended Che’s (played by Sara Ramirez) comedy performance, and later used it again when she went out with Seema (portrayed by Sarita Choudhury) in episode nine.

In the initial film, the accessory belonging to Timmy Woods was introduced, and it seemed fitting to bring it back when Carrie went to Paris during the final episode of season one in “And Just Like That…” to spread Big’s remains.

In the last season of Sex and the City, Carrie donned a breathtaking Versace dress reminiscent of a thousand layers, or “mille feuille”. However, as she lamented in And Just Like That, she was denied the opportunity to showcase this gown in public.

She shared with Seema, “On one occasion in Paris and another time here for amusement,” she indulged. “I enjoyed a whole serving of Jiffy Pop from that window.” It’s just like Carrie to relish popcorn all by herself in her NYC apartment, even while dressed extravagantly in an $80,000 gown!

In a popular snapshot taken on the set of the second season, Parker donned once more the memorable Vivienne Westwood dress that Carrie wore at her unsuccessful wedding to Big in the 2008 film. As a tribute, she also sported a replica of the famous blue bird accessory she had worn as a headpiece.

Could this be a dream sequence? A flashback? We can’t help but wonder…
