Sarah Paulson Debunks Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Casting Rumor (Exclusive)

As a gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia and a love for diverse voice talent, the news of Sarah Paulson potentially joining the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had me all hyped up! Her unique acting style and versatility would have made Rouge the Bat an exciting addition to the movie. Alas, it seems that my dreams of a comeback for her character in a comic book-based film might be on hold – at least for now.

The upcoming film “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” produced by Paramount, boasts an impressive roster of voice talent including Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Keanu Reeves. While these are the only confirmed actors for the movie, there have been speculations and reports about Sarah Paulson from “American Horror Story” and Hulu’s upcoming film “Hold Your Breath” potentially lending her voice to a character in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” However, during an interview regarding “Hold Your Breath,” Paulson denied any involvement as Rouge the Bat. Yet, she expressed interest in participating in such a project in the future.

Paulson mentioned that no one has contacted him regarding playing Rouge the Bat, but he’d be interested if they did. He clarified that there are currently no plans for this as he hasn’t been asked, but if someone reaches out or sends the opportunity to the right people, he’s open to it.

In the past, there was a story about Sonic the Hedgehog 3 that suggested Paulson might be involved in the film. More recently, it was found that a page for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 listed Paulson as playing Rouge the Bat. However, some people speculated this wasn’t accurate casting information but instead the work of someone tampering with the Wiki.

For some time now, fans of Sonic the Hedgehog have been proposing the idea of Paulson taking on the role of Rouge the Bat in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or another Sonic movie. However, it remains uncertain if Rouge the Bat will appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, given the movies’ penchant for introducing surprise characters. Yet, it can be confirmed that Paulson won’t provide the voice for this character if she is included.

Paulson went on to mention the movie “The Spirit,” released in 2008 and based on a comic strip by Frank Miller. As part of the Sonic fan community, which spans various forms of media, Paulson expressed her desire for the opportunity to work on another film adaptation from a comic book.

She expressed her strong desire by saying, “I yearn to be in a movie based on a comic book. The only time I’ve had this opportunity was for the film titled The Spirit, which was many years ago. Unfortunately, it didn’t garner much attention as people weren’t particularly interested. It was an experience I cherished, but now I hope for one where there would be genuine interest.

Despite not finding Paulson voicing Rouge the Bat in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, you can catch her next in Hold Your Breath, a show that will debut on a streaming platform starting next week.

In the turbulent dust storm-stricken Oklahoma of the 1930s, a woman named Sarah Paulson becomes convinced that a menacing force poses a danger to her family.

In the movie titled “Hold Your Breath“, you’ll find Amiah Miller, who has previously appeared in “My Best Friend’s Exorcism“, Ebon Moss-Bachrach from “The Bear“, and Annaleigh Ashford, known for her roles in “Kinky Boots“, “Impeachment: American Crime Story“, among others. The film was penned and jointly directed by Karrie Crouse (Westworld) and Will Joines.

The movie “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” is scheduled for release in theaters on December 20th. Meanwhile, the series “Hold Your Breath” will be available on Hulu from October 3rd.
