Savannah Chrisley’s Shocking Plan to Reunite Family After Parents’ Prison Sentences Revealed!

Savannah Chrisley is looking to the future.

As her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, serve their 10-year and 7-year terms in prison following their tax fraud convictions, she is already contemplating the healing process they will both embark on once released.

As a dedicated follower, I’ve made it clear: “Upon their return, they’ll find I’ve already expressed that for the past two and a half years, if they show up expecting to save people as if nothing’s transpired, then I won’t be around. This was communicated to them, and Mama has assured me it won’t happen.” I shared this during my Unlocked podcast on May 13 in a conversation with Nanny Pam.

I passionately expressed my thoughts, ‘If we’re to reunite, it must involve a comprehensive, week-long therapeutic session for us all.’ I firmly believe this is the key to resolving any lingering issues.

In 2022, Todd, who is 56 years old and a parent to Chase, 28, and Greyson, 18, along with Julie, his 52-year-old partner, were found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud. Initially, Todd was given a sentence of 12 years in federal prison, but it has since been reduced to 10 years. Julie’s initial seven-year prison sentence was overturned at first, but later upheld by a judge in September. They are scheduled for release in 2032 (Todd) and 2028 (Julie).

For Savannah, caring for her son Grayson and her niece Chloe, aged 11, she understands that resolving differing opinions between herself and her parents regarding mending fractured family ties will be necessary. (Chloe, the child of Kyle Chrisley and Angela Johnson, was under Todd and Julie’s custody until their prison terms ended.)

Savannah, who has openly shared her strained relationship with her older sister Lindsie Chrisley, stated, “I’m not saying I don’t know your perspective, but just because we are family doesn’t automatically mean I must tolerate foolish behavior and maintain a relationship with you.

And while her grandmother understood her pain, she remained optimistic about the family’s reunion.

In August 2019, a federal grand jury in Atlanta brought charges against Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, totaling 12 counts. These charges encompassed offenses such as wire fraud, conspiring to commit bank fraud, and conspiring to defraud the United States. As per reports from NBC News, these allegations stemmed from activities dating back to the mid-2000s. This period included an alleged attempt to evade almost $2 million in state taxes between 2008 and 2016, as well as concealing over $1 million from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

On the day prior to the issuance of the indictment, Todd asserted that he and his spouse were not guilty. Instead, he pointed the finger at a trusted staff member, claiming this person was embezzling funds and extorting them.

In his Instagram post, he stated, “We have no secrets and are proud of our actions, as we firmly believe we’ve acted with integrity. Not only do we feel confident that we’re in the right, but we also possess a wealth of solid proof and numerous supporting testimonies to back this up.

Three years passed before the stars of “Chrisley Knows Best” faced trial. Over a span of three weeks, numerous testimonies were heard. Despite pleading not guilty, they were found guilty on all charges related to tax evasion and bank fraud on June 7, 2022.

It was claimed by the U.S. attorney’s office that the pair, along with their accountant Peter Tarantino who was tried alongside them, were involved in a scheme to deceive banks out of approximately $30 million over a ten-year period.

In Keri Farley’s June 2022 statement as Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, she emphasized that no matter who you are – famous, wealthy, or holding a high position – justice remains impartial when it comes to lies, deceit, and theft. She further noted that when motivated by greed, individuals like the three defendants were found guilty on all charges, demonstrating yet again that financial crimes do not lead to success in the end.

After a span of five months, the Northern District of Georgia handed down a sentence for Todd – 12 years in prison, while Julie was given a sentence of seven years. (Meanwhile, Peter received a sentence of three years in prison.)

For over a decade, I, as a lifestyle expert looking back, have witnessed a duo systematically swindling banks out of tens of millions of dollars. Simultaneously, they evaded their federal income tax obligations. In a November 2022 statement, U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan made it clear that this wasn’t just a financial misstep, but a deliberate criminal act. Their extended sentences are a testament to the grand scale of their illicit scheme and should serve as a cautionary tale for anyone considering manipulating our community banking system for illegitimate personal gain.

In September 2023, the length of Julie and Todd’s sentences were reduced. This means Julie will be discharged a year and a half ahead of schedule in 2024, while Todd’s release date was moved forward by two years to 2033.

Jay Surgent, their lawyer, stated in September 2023 to Insider that without a shadow of a doubt, Todd and Julie are exemplary detainees who were given unusually long sentences. He mentioned that Todd’s sentence has been reduced to ten years, while Julie’s is now at five years.

2023 saw me, an ardent fan, begrudgingly accepting the reality that my beloved duo would commence their incarceration journeys in January. While Todd found himself confined within the walls of Federal Correctional Institution (FPI) Pensacola, Florida, my heart ached as Julie was housed at a different federal penitentiary in Lexington, Kentucky.

Approximately half a year following the incarceration of both Julie and Todd in separate correctional facilities, their child, Savannah Chrisley, provided some insights into how they were fairing. She disclosed that while serving their sentences, there was no communication between her parents.

195 days passed without exchanging words… she expressed on her August 2023 Instagram post. My heart aches… I implore for fairness and justice!

She also pushed back at rumors about their time in prison.

She found it amusing since one remarked, “He’s let himself go,” according to her on the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast. If I were to meet him now, I’d tell him to keep it that way. In fact, it suits him well! He has an excellent prison barber.

Instead, Todd expressed his concerns about the treatment he received at the federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, despite being confined.

He mentioned during a call on the December 2023 edition of Cuomo that the food was no longer fresh, as it had exceeded its expiration date by a year.

He went on to say, “There are rats and squirrels infesting the storage area where the food is kept. They disguised it with plastic sheets but eventually tore open the ceiling due to mold growth. In the process, they discovered a deceased cat up in the ceiling, which unfortunately fell onto the food.

Beyond the terrifying events in the cafeteria, he claimed that an individual additionally tried to blackmail his family members.

He mentioned that a picture had been taken of him as he slept and it was sent to his daughter. He then asked for $2,600 per month in exchange for his protection.

Savannah, being responsible for her younger siblings Grayson and Chloe while their parents are incarcerated, has shared the emotional burden their convictions and separation have placed upon her.

She revealed to TopMob News in March 2024 that the last conversation they had was the morning they were both sent to federal prison. She claimed that her father is facing a significant amount of backlash due to their vocal criticisms regarding the prison conditions.

In reality, she claimed that the prison authorities were preventing a significant amount of his email communication with her mother.

Even though she didn’t want to make it all about her, she acknowledged that there were moments when she felt overpowered by the situation.

Savannah shared on her April 2024 podcast, Unlocked, that she finds it challenging when Mom and Dad seem to feel that life goes on without them. In essence, she often feels the same way about certain people in her own life, as if they simply carry on living their lives regardless.

She went on to say, “I’m finding it hard to breathe normally, as I juggle finances for the children and try to balance being a parent and being in a relationship.

In June 2024, Julie’s seven-year prison sentence was reversed by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. While they upheld her convictions, the court determined that the judge in her 2022 trial had made an error in calculating the sentence for the reality star.

In their decision, the judges explained that the district court failed to specify the evidence it used to convict Julie for losses prior to 2007. As we are unable to locate this evidence in the court records ourselves, they decided to overturn Julie’s sentence and send the case back to the district court. The district court is now required to establish the facts and calculations regarding Julie’s loss, restitution, and forfeiture, as well as to re-sentence her based on these findings.

In a lower court, the details of her sentence were reviewed to decide any necessary adjustments, whereas Todd’s sentence stayed unchanged.

After having her prison sentence overturned three months ago, the court in Atlanta eventually confirmed Julie’s initial seven-year prison term. In a heartfelt apology, she expressed tears of remorse – both to her children and the court.

Julie expressed her feelings before the court, stating that she’s spent considerable time reflecting on what she wished to convey. She regretted her past actions and the circumstances they led to, as reported by People during the September 25 hearing. Essentially, she has been incarcerated for 20 months, but she feels that the period leading up to the trial, especially the actions that brought them to this point, warrant an apology.

She’s made every possible effort to reconnect with her family. She’s even learned new abilities like driving a forklift and serving food properly. This phase of her life has been incredibly challenging. She can never fully compensate her children for their hardships, and for that, she deeply regrets.
