Savannah Guthrie Teases Today's Future After Hoda Kotb's Departure

As a dedicated follower of the Today show family, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with these extraordinary individuals who balance their personal lives and professional careers so gracefully. Their journey through parenthood, filled with laughter, tears, and the occasional chaos that comes with raising kids, mirrors my own experiences as a parent.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself deeply affected by Hoda Kotb’s announcement to depart from Today next year. However, much like a resilient oak in the face of autumn winds, Savannah Guthrie understands that the show’s rhythm must persist.

Savannah shared with TopMob News during the Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala in NYC on October 10th, “I believe we are incredibly fortunate since our team at NBC is truly exceptional. It’s not just about one or two individuals; we’re an entire cast, a unified group, a family. I’m pleased to say that the show is strong and we’re thriving.

But that doesn’t mean she and remaining NBC morning news anchors Al RokerCraig Melvin, Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones won’t miss Hoda and her eternally upbeat personality terribly.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my belief that Hoda is absolutely invaluable. Yet, the thought of what lies ahead fills me with an electrifying sense of anticipation!

Last month, viewers of Today were taken aback as Hoda made an emotional announcement on September 26th that she plans to leave the show in early 2025.

Regarding why she decided to depart after over a decade, it was undoubtedly due to her young daughters, Haley (age 7) and Hope (age 5).

At the age of 60, she acknowledged that having her children later in life made her want to give them more of my time. She feels that our lives are limited by time, and making the most of it is challenging. She expressed that this decision is one of the hardest things for her.

Meanwhile, as Hoda spends time with her family, Savannah shared insights on juggling two children and a busy career by finding brief opportunities for personal care.

The 52-year-old expressed that self-care doesn’t necessarily require grand gestures such as scheduling a massage. She added that sometimes our schedules don’t allow for such luxuries. Instead, she suggested that taking a moment to pause, breathe deeply, and reflect on one’s emotions could serve as a simple yet effective form of self-care.

You know, a small action can have an immense impact!” I emphasized. “It’s crucial we don’t pile on additional stress when already grappling with it. So, let’s remember to be kind to ourselves, offer ourselves understanding. That’s the fundamental rule for self-compassion.
