Prepare to meet Abby Jimenez’s next set of leading men.
In the novel “Say You’ll Remember Me,” currently available, the blossoming relationship between veterinarian Xavier and social media guru Samantha is the main focus. However, it also hints at the upcoming two romantic comedies that the author plans to share with readers in the near future.
In a private conversation with TopMob News, Abby revealed that they will be sharing romantic tales about Xavier’s companions. Specifically, we are preparing to share the love stories of Mike and Chris, with Chris’ tale coming up next.
She recently disclosed that the book coming out soon, titled “The Night We Met,” is her upcoming publication from 2026. She mentioned that she’s currently writing Mike’s story and has already made significant progress on her ninth book, which will be her 2027 novel.
Abby has kept quiet about the specifics of her next two novels, but she’s given a hint that her upcoming series could have connections to her previous trilogy. She playfully suggested, “As the story progresses, we’ll return to the world of ‘Just for the Summer,’ and you’ll see recurring themes and characters from those books as well.
Fortunately, “Say You’ll Remember Me” lays the foundation for the subsequent series. Indeed, the characters – bookish pharmacist Chris, charismatic personal trainer Mike, Jesse, their high school buddy, and his girlfriend Becca – are pivotal to Xavier’s journey throughout the storyline.
The vet underscores that they consider this group as their cherished family who stood by them during challenging times, including an abusive household experience as a teenager. A decade has passed, and they, along with Samantha, are committed to tackling the hurdles of time, space, and personal obligations to nurture their relationship successfully.
Furthermore, it’s evident from their dialogue in “Say You’ll Remember Me,” that Chris and Mike are both unattached, and the author seems eager for them to find companionship or engage in romantic interactions.
Originally, I had planned to pen my next book following “Just for the Summer,” but I found myself struggling to meet the deadline due to the complex nature of the plot and its intricate narrative. This tale demanded my full attention to be properly told, hence the delay in its completion.
Plus, the writer had another idea ready to go.
Abby expressed that “Say You’ll Remember Me” was a story that felt vividly alive to her, and it seemed to pour effortlessly from her. She was clear about how she wanted to develop the characters, so she requested her editor to publish “Say You’ll Remember Me” first. Her editor consented, and Abby finished writing the book in the latter half of last year, meeting the deadline.
Speaking about the origin of “Say You’ll Remember Me”, she shared, “I’ve had this desire to create a veterinarian hero for quite some time.” Also, I’ve always wanted to craft a story with a grumpy black cat and a friendly golden retriever. He would be reserved, while she is witty, sociable, and has a bit of a dry humor.
Include a popular video featuring a cat born with a birth defect, similar to Samantha’s pet Pooter (the feline without an anus), which ultimately led to their encounter. This unique cat also inspired Abby to write her upcoming book.
However, it’s important to note that things aren’t always easy for Xavier and Samantha. In fact, Samantha promptly moves from Minnesota to California to look after her mother who is suffering from early onset dementia.
Nadia Cakes’ owner stated that writing was tough for her. She added, ‘It becomes difficult at times since our aim is for the characters to be content and united. Frankly, I seldom grant these two a respite.’
In essence, the struggle Samantha and her family face due to her mother’s health issues in California puts immense pressure on Xavier as he tries to balance his relationship with her and hold onto his achievements. This balancing act eventually proves overwhelming.
In her words, “Ultimately, whatever challenges I subject them to within the story, they will find their happily-ever-after.

Experience: I stumbled upon an extraordinary find back in 2012 – a journal penned by a Lutheran pastor from 1912, detailing his encounters with none other than Good Stab, a Blackfeet man and vampire! This thrilling story weaves through three distinct eras (my own time, the pastor’s era, and the dark days of the Marias Massacre in 1870 when approximately 200 Blackfeet souls were cruelly taken by the U.S. army). As I delve deeper into this journal, I find myself captivated by its chilling portrayal of murder, revenge, and otherworldly elements that add an eerie depth to the narrative.
