As a die-hard Marvel fan who’s been following the adventures of the Avengers since the early days of comic books, the news about Scarlet Witch potentially returning in “Vision Quest” has me more excited than a kid on Christmas morning! The last time we saw Wanda Maximoff in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” it looked like she was gone for good. But as they say in the comics, nothing is truly forever!
According to recent reports, it appears that Scarlet Witch could make a comeback in Marvel’s “Vision Quest” series, following the announcement of James Spader’s return as Ultron. This exciting news comes after Deadline reported that Elizabeth Olsen might reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming show. Fans have been speculating about Scarlet Witch since the end of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” where it seemed she had passed away, but in the world of comics, death is not always permanent. (Although the MCU’s official timeline suggests her death on Wundagore Mountain.)
In the same officially-approved book, the event is detailed: “The benevolent 838-Wanda assembles the boys and comforts the distraught Scarlet Witch by promising them love. Meanwhile, Wanda Maximoff from Universe-616 gives up: She annihilates Wundagore and crumbles it onto herself, thus eliminating two major perils for the entire Multiverse.”
As a die-hard Marvel enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation when I think about the return of some iconic characters. The question on every fan’s lips for nearly three years has been: “Will Ultron make a comeback?” And it seems our prayers have been answered! The voice we know so well, that of the talented Benedict Cumberbatch, reprised his role as Ultron from “What If…?” who stood against the Guardians of the Multiverse. Now, he’s set to go head-to-head with Paul Bettany’s Vision.
Where Do We See Wanda Go After A Return?
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but get excited when I think about Scarlet Witch’s return. And if you ask Elizabeth Olsen, who brilliantly portrays Wanda Maximoff, she’s got some intriguing ideas about where her character could go next. In fact, during a past interview with ComicBook, they asked her about the future, and the storyline of ‘Witches Road’ is high on her wishlist! It’s interesting to note that this concept is going to be explored in ‘Agatha All Along’, premiering on Disney+ soon!
In our conversation, Olsen shared his perspective, stating that it is often the fans who come up with the most creative ideas about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He admitted that he isn’t privy to their future plans, and as a result, he’s unsure of where the MCU will head next. He also mentioned that fans seem to have an uncanny ability to predict upcoming events even before they are officially announced.
