Now would be a good time to start preparing for your Halloween movie marathons because there are a ton of Blu-ray deals happening on GRUV this weekend. This includes a huge sale on Blumhouse horror films that’s happening between today, Friday the 13th through Monday the 16th of September. Eligible films include M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass and Split in 4K, Five Nights at Freddy’s in 4K, Get Out in 4K, and much more. They even have The Halloween Trilogy in 4K priced at $39.99, which is a lot better than the $54.95 price that Amazon is currently charging.

Will Blumhouse Bring Back Friday the 13th?

Since it’s Friday the 13th, we’d like to remind horror enthusiasts that there have been rumors circulating about Blumhouse Productions planning a resurrection of the Friday the 13th series, similar to their work on the Halloween revival.

Ryan Turek, producer of The Exorcist: Believer, expressed his shared enthusiasm with Jason Blum about the prospect of revisiting Friday the 13th. In an interview with Inverse, he stated that to make a Friday the 13th movie, you don’t need a lot of elements; all you truly need is a summer camp setting, some campers, and, of course, Jason Voorhees in his iconic mask. Turek has openly professed his admiration for Halloween as the best slasher film ever made. However, he holds Friday the 13th in high regard as a franchise that commands respect. If given the opportunity, the chance to spend time at Crystal Lake would be an amazing experience for him.

The project was still in the forefront Jason Blum’s mind back in March of this year:

As a gaming enthusiast, if Friday the 13th were a game I could bring back to life, that’s exactly what I’d strive for! However, it’s not a Blumhouse project at the moment, but I’m putting all my energy into making it happen. It’s simply an IP that has always held a special place in my heart.
