Score Big on the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x: 5-Star Laptop Now Only $799.99!

Finding a device that suits most of the people I am familiar with isn’t common, but when one of the top-notch laptops offering exceptional battery life is almost at its lowest price, it catches my attention and compels me to spread the word. Currently, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x is available for $799.99, which represents a savings of $400. This laptop boasts a stunning 14.5-inch 3K OLED screen and a stylish design.

What laptop do you recommend to friends?

As a tech reporter, I frequently find myself fielding gadget purchase queries from friends and relatives. This usually leaves me scratching my head since I’d like to probe about work processes, software needs, and budget constraints. However, it’s always gratifying when there’s a computer that can be confidently suggested to many people. Such is the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. Our colleague Zachary Boddy, who also receives similar tech advice requests, made this observation in our Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x review:

The Yoga Slim 7x from Lenovo is such a delightful device that it simplifies my role as the family’s tech expert tremendously. This cutting-edge Windows on ARM machine is not only stylish and boasts an exceptional OLED screen, but also offers impressive performance and battery life. It handles all your requirements with ease, and surprisingly comes at a lower price than anticipated. It ranks as the best laptop I have ever evaluated.

It’s not surprising that Boddy endorsed the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x so strongly, as it was the first and only laptop they’ve ever given a perfect score to.

Observing here, I can’t help but admire the streamlined elegance of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. Its vibrant screen catches my eye, promising an all-day visual feast. Not just that, it’s touted for its impressive performance and long battery life – a perfect blend for everyday computing and AI tasks, thanks to the powerful Snapdragon X Elite processor. To top it off, this beauty also boasts Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and Dolby Vision HDR support, making it a truly top-tier PC experience.

What is the laptop with the best battery life?

To put it simply, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x boasts impressive battery performance, allowing you to comfortably work or play all day long. In terms of real-world usage, its battery life ranks highly compared to other models we’ve tested. However, there are some devices that have managed longer battery life in specific testing scenarios.

Determining which laptop offers the longest battery life can be surprisingly tricky due to the varying methods manufacturers use for their battery tests. The numbers they provide are often not representative of real-world scenarios. Even in practical reviews, the results can fluctuate based on factors like screen brightness levels.

To ensure a fair comparison, Laptop Mag utilized the same test for every device in compiling their list of laptops with exceptional battery life. Regrettably, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x didn’t make that list, but it managed an impressive runtime of 14 hours and 14 minutes under the identical testing conditions. For perspective, most devices on this list typically last between roughly 14 hours and up to 20 hours.

While these specific settings may be beneficial for some users, it’s important to note that not all computer users maintain such stringent configurations. In our assessment, Boddy opted to test the laptop under less restrictive conditions.

What impressed me the most about the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (Gen 9) was its battery life. Given that this aspect is one of the key attractions of the new Snapdragon X series processors, I eagerly tested it out. To my delight, the Yoga Slim 7x exceeded all my expectations and has turned out to be the longest-lasting laptop I’ve ever used, with no other contender coming even close.

In that test, we adjusted the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x’s display to run at 90Hz, turned on the keyboard backlighting, and kept the screen brightness level between 50% and 60%.

Is there any reason to not buy the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x?

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x functions as a PC equipped with Copilot+ technology. This feature includes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) optimized for AI-related tasks. Originally, top-tier Copilot+ PCs utilized Snapdragon processors, which incorporate Arm architecture chips. However, now you can find Copilot+ PCs with Intel or AMD processors. Notably, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x features a Qualcomm chip instead.

The Snapdragon X Elite processor in the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x is excellent for most tasks, but it does encounter certain limitations. Specifically, some applications require emulation to run, and there are specific niche apps that don’t function on PCs with a Snapdragon chip at all. If you need an app that doesn’t perform optimally on a PC with a Snapdragon processor, you might want to consider another device, such as the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i, which features an Intel chip instead. Fortunately, if you prefer the Yoga Slim series but require an Intel chip, there’s good news: Lenovo also offers the Yoga Slim 7i model.
