As a seasoned cinephile with a penchant for action films and a knack for spotting rising stars, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the meteoric rise of Scott Adkins. From his humble beginnings on British television to his current status as an action icon, his journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. His martial arts prowess, honed through years of dedicated practice, is a sight to behold on the silver screen, placing him alongside the greatest action stars in the industry.
For individuals unacquainted with the action film genre (and who isn’t, given its popularity?), Scott Adkins is a British-born martial arts virtuoso proficient in numerous disciplines such as judo, kickboxing, and many more. His early television roles showcased his talent, leading to an increasing number of appearances in action films. His exceptional abilities have even landed him roles alongside some of the greatest action stars and several genre heavyweights. Notable films featuring Adkins include The Bourne Ultimatum, X-Men: Origins, The Expendables 2, Zero Dark Thirty, Doctor Strange, Ip Man 4, John Wick 4, and his latest production is ‘Take Cover’ where he portrays Sam Locke, a deadly sniper for hire.
From a movie buff’s perspective, “Take Cover” is a thrilling tale where I, as a seasoned marksman, find myself pinned down in a transparent penthouse by a ruthless adversary. I must navigate through this perilous situation, using cunning rather than cover to evade my lethal opponent and secure my survival.
Despite his lively and thrilling action sequences on screen, Scott turns out to be a calm-voiced action hero, one we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. We conversed with him about the movie, the stunts, the injuries sustained, the hidden details in the film, and surprisingly, even about the afterlife!
Here’s our chat with Scott Adkins…….
