After it appeared that Tribute Games had finished working on the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, following its last beat ’em up (and the Complete Edition), they surprised everyone by announcing a sequel at Summer Game Fest. The new game, titled Scott Pilgrim EX, is set to release on consoles and PC in 2026. In this continuation, Scott and Ramona will be playable characters. Take a look at the first trailer below.
In this new installment, a total of seven characters are playable, with four of them being previous antagonists. The game also features drop-in/drop-out cooperative play for up to four players. This time around, the action takes place in Toronto, where you’ll fight off enemies, upgrade your character, complete missions, and discover hidden truths scattered across the city. Additionally, expect to encounter Vegans and other factions as adversaries during your journey.
Keeping the timeless, vintage graphics, Bryan Lee O’Malley (from the graphic novel series) penned an entirely new storyline. Judging from the trailer, it appears to maintain the smooth gameplay and exaggerated humor that was a hallmark of its previous version. Stay tuned for additional information and updates in the upcoming months.
