As a long-time Marvel fan, I am beyond excited about the upcoming reboot of “The Fantastic Four” and the major overhaul of their iconic home, the Baxter Building. The first time I saw the retro-futuristic design of the building on the official poster at Comic-Con, my heart skipped a beat!
In some instances, iconic locations from pop culture can draw equal levels of fascination as the beloved characters from fans’ favorite series. Take for example Superman’s Fortress of Solitude and The Batcave, hidden beneath Gotham City. Not to forget, Avengers Tower and the Baxter Building, which serves as the residence for Marvel’s First Family. These structures have graced our screens in live-action adaptations. Among them, the Baxter Building is undergoing a significant transformation as part of Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
At San Diego Comic-Con, a promotional poster showcases the MCU’s revamped Fantastic Four with an evident retro-futuristic vibe. The iconic Baxter Building is depicted on the poster, merging seamlessly into a launchpad for both the Fantasticar and their spaceship, named Excelsior.

For MCU newcomers, the Baxter Building may serve as an unfamiliar experience in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” film; however, according to director Matt Shakman, this production won’t follow the typical origin story path for the Fantastic Four team.
At Comic-Con, Shakman shared with Entertainment Weekly that our show will deviate from the typical origin story. Instead of detailing how the characters transform and come together, we’ll start our tale anew, past the well-known events leading up to the first act’s end. Essentially, we wanted to kick off the series with a fresh beginning.
The Marvel Studios production titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” featuring an ensemble cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus, premieres exclusively in cinemas on July 25, 2025. This is a part of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 6.
As a long-time fan of Marvel movies, I’m absolutely thrilled about the lineup of upcoming films from Marvel Studios! The release of “Captain America: Brave New World” on Valentine’s Day 2025 is sure to be an emotional rollercoaster, as Steve Rogers navigates a brave new world in post-Blip society.
