In an interview with ComicBook, they shared some desired ideas for festive episodes. With exciting news from San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it was confirmed that the animated series will have both a holiday special and a full sixth season coming soon.

Next Holiday Specials for Solar Opposites
Solar Opposites executive producer Josh Bycel even mentioned that the creative team floated around Arbor Day as a potential holiday as they’ve previously been trees in the series, “Because they’re like trees and plants and all that stuff. We talked about Arbor Day at one point. So there’s a couple still out there.” After a few more suggestions, Sagan McMahan (voice actor behind the Pupa) suggested International Giraffe Day as a potential special and knocked it out of the park.
Mike McMahan and Josh Bycel served as executive producers for “Solar Opposites” Season 5, which is produced by 20th Television Animation. The new season will premiere on Hulu starting August 12th. Dan Stevens replaces Justin Roiland as the voice actor for Korvo in this upcoming season and the following seasons, while Thomas Middleditch continues to voice Terry, Sean Giambrone remains as Yumyulack’s voice, and Mary Mack returns to voice Jesse in their respective roles.
In the upcoming fifth season of “Solar Opposites,” Hulu previews the latest developments for this quirky alien squad. The story revolves around four extraterrestrial beings: Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone), who view Earth as a polluted and flawed world, and Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack), who find joy in human culture. With Terry and Korvo now hitched, the team’s focus shifts to family life.
