As a long-time fan of quirky and offbeat comedy series, I can’t help but feel a pang of melancholy as I anticipate the final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” on FX. Having followed this show since its inception, I’ve come to cherish the consistently hilarious and original take on vampire life that the creators have brought to the table.
As a devoted gamer and fan of FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows,” I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness as we approach the end of this remarkable comedy series. With its sixth season just around the corner, it’s truly exceptional to witness both fans and critics unanimously praising its consistent brilliance since day one. And let me tell you, the cast and crew are no exception! During my recent visit to Comic-Con, I had the privilege of speaking with them, and they all shared that while it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, they had an absolute blast creating this magical world for us to enjoy. So, let’s cherish every moment of the final season, premiering on FX on October 21st.
Matt Berry personally found it enjoyable rather than sad that the show, which he had been a part of for six years, was coming to an end. He considered himself fortunate for having such pleasant memories and expressed his gratitude for the consistent enjoyment from the beginning till the end.
Mark Proksch expressed, “This type of show is seldom offered, allowing us the luxury to improvise wildly and utter unconventional lines. In other productions, such behavior would lead to termination. We’ll surely cherish this freedom.”
The show, initially based on the 2014 film with the same title, has since developed independently and explored fresh territories, leading to a devoted fanbase.
Paul Simms, the executive producer, expressed that no other project he has been involved with has elicited such passionate fan response. The experience of attending Comic-Con and witnessing fans dressed as characters is a unique and unforgettable event for him. He believes there’s an allure to the show that draws creative individuals in their personal lives. It’s fascinating! No one cosplays as writers like myself, which makes it less intimidating for me. I enjoy wandering around during Halloween or similar events, spotting a Colin or Laszlo or Nadia, and being thrilled by it.
The final season of What We Do in the Shadows premieres on FX on October 21st.
I’m really excited for the last installment of this game series! If you feel the same way, let’s connect over our shared love for it. You can find me on Twitter or Instagram @PatrickCavanaugh_ and we can chat about Star Wars and horror together.
