Joker Studio has introduced its fresh creation, titled “Sea of Remnants“, during Sony’s State of Play event. The trailer, available below, offers a glimpse into the peculiar atmosphere that “Sea of Remnants” seems to aim for.

Accompanied by some folksy tunes, the trailer presents a peek into exploration, battles, and the sensation of sailing when the game Sea of Remnants is released. It also promises that players will engage in pirate-themed journeys, and there are elements of fantasy as well, such as mermaids and various sea creatures lurking beneath the waves.

The finale of the trailer shows the main character reuniting with their companions, who then appear ready to confront a formidable fortress that may house enemy pirates.

In “Sea of Remnants”, players assume the identity of a sailor suffering from amnesia who joins forces with a mysterious companion due to their shared destinations. Throughout their voyage, they’ll navigate the haunted waters of the Sea of Remnants, and may even discover hidden treasures along the way.

The studio has outlined their character design concept for “Sea of Remnants” as being intended to provoke a sense of “puppet-like” characters. This was achieved by incorporating bright colors, expressive emotions, and distinct physical characteristics that give the impression of puppetry.

In terms of game mechanics, exploring and upgrading the ship are essential elements in Sea of Remnant. Additionally, the game incorporates a changing weather system which adds an extra layer of difficulty as you navigate the haunted waters.
