As a seasoned attorney with decades of experience under my belt, I have seen countless cases that range from the mundane to the extraordinary. The case of Mr. Combs, however, seems to be teetering on the edge of both worlds.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been ordered to pay up in his legal battle.
On September 9, a judge in Michigan’s Lenawee County Circuit Court mandated that the rapper should pay more than $100 million to Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, an inmate in Michigan, as per court documents reviewed by TopMob News.
The judge, Anna Marie Anzalone, ruled in favor of Cardello-Smith by granting a default judgment because Combs failed to show up at the September 9th virtual court hearing. This information comes from the local news outlet Detroit Metro Times.
In 1997, while working at a restaurant in the Detroit area, Cardello-Smith claims to have met the music mogul. This encounter is detailed in a lawsuit against Combs, obtained by Variety. At a subsequent party, both men are alleged to have engaged in sexual activity with two women. Cardello-Smith claims that Combs touched him inappropriately during this time. Cardello-Smith, who has educated himself on civil and criminal law, subsequently accused Combs of spiking his drink, causing him to lose consciousness. According to the lawsuit, he also alleges that Combs sexually assaulted him later that same evening.
According to public records, Cardello-Smith is presently incarcerated for a total of 12 charges concerning criminal sexual activity and an additional 2 charges involving kidnapping.
After the ruling, Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, declared in a statement to TopMob News that Cardello-Smith is merely seeking to swindle the creator of Bad Boys Records.
The attorney stated that the individual in question is a sex offender who has been found guilty on 14 charges related to sexual assault and kidnapping spanning over a period of 26 years.
He went on to say, “Now, his resume boasts of defrauding a court from behind bars; Mr. Combs, who doesn’t even know him, has never received any legal action against him. Mr. Combs eagerly anticipates the quick dismissal of this judgment.
TopMob News has reached out to lawyers for Cardello-Smith for comment, but has not heard back.
Combs, who is currently facing legal issues, finds himself at the center of another lawsuit, this time from Cardello-Smith. Notably, he has previously been accused by six women, among them his ex-girlfriend Cassie, of sexual assault and abuse. These charges, which Combs has consistently denied, were settled in November 2023 in the case involving Cassie.
More recently, his former partner, commonly known as Yung Miami, who was involved with him in an on-off relationship from 2021 to 2023, has shared her personal experiences regarding the rapper.
The City Girls rapper made it clear during an episode of her REVOLT series, ‘Caresha Please’, in August, “I won’t comment on things I haven’t lived through myself. I can’t discuss matters I’m not familiar with. I can’t address these allegations because they didn’t happen when I was present. I don’t know the person involved and those events weren’t part of my personal experiences.
She mentioned that, upon uncovering all these matters, it became essential for her to step back and prioritize what truly mattered.

On March 25th, federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out search warrants at the Los Angeles and Miami residences of Sean “Diddy” Combs. This information was corroborated by multiple law enforcement sources to NBC News. The warrant originated from the Southern District of New York, and an HSI New York spokesperson confirmed to TopMob News that they were executing legal actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. At the time of the search warrants, it was reported that Combs was in the Miami area.
Reports emerged about an investigation following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which began with lawsuits filed by several accusers in November. In a statement on Instagram posted in December, he asserted that he is innocent of the disturbing allegations made against him, stating, “I did not do any of the horrendous things being claimed. I will vigorously defend my reputation, my family, and the truth.
The day following the execution of search warrants at both P. Diddy’s LA and Miami properties, his lawyer Aaron Dyer issued a statement to TopMob News. He expressed concern over what he described as an excessive use of force that bordered on military-grade, during the searches. Dyer also criticized the authorities for their aggressive behavior towards Combs’ children and staff.
Dyer conveyed that Combs intends to vindicate himself, stating, “No charges have been brought against him in either a criminal or civil case regarding these allegations. Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and will persistently work to prove his innocence every day.
During the searches, it was reported by various law enforcement sources who are knowledgeable about the warrant, that authorities from the Department of Homeland Security took phones from Combs’ home in Miami before he was due to travel to the Bahamas. Additionally, several sources familiar with the situation mentioned that guns were found during the search.
A person acquainted with the situation also informed NBC News that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by prosecutors and investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual misconduct, illegal drug dealing, and firearm possession, all supposedly linked to Combs.
On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on suspicion of drug possession. This information was shared with NBC News by a law enforcement source who is knowledgeable about the situation. According to the arrest affidavit from Miami-Dade, Paul was detained for allegedly possessing suspected cocaine and marijuana edibles. Prison records obtained by NBC News indicate that Paul was released on March 26 after posting bond. Brian Bieber, Paul’s attorney, stated through a statement obtained by the outlet, “We do not intend to try this case in the media. All matters will be addressed in court.
