Sean Diddy Combs Trial: Cassie Ventura Video to Be Admitted in Court

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial will feature some graphic evidence.

In preparation for the upcoming sex trafficking trial of the rapper (scheduled to begin with jury selection on May 5th), Judge Arun Subramanian, as reported by NBC News, has made a decision to admit into evidence a highly explicit video showing an altercation between the rapper and his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura that took place at Los Angeles’ Intercontinental Hotel in March 2016.

In May, CNN released a video that appeared to align with the event Ventura described in her lawsuit against Combs, which was filed in November 2023. The incident was followed by a settlement announcement from both parties the following day, as Combs had denied her allegations. (The rapper and Ventura reached an agreement after she made these claims.)

In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, I admitted that I was going through a tough time and had reached an all-time low. Yet, there’s no justification for the regrettable actions portrayed in the released footage. The behavior you see is unacceptable, and I wholeheartedly own up to my mistakes in that video.

After mentioning that he’d been attending therapy and rehabilitation, the 55-year-old strongly asserted his dedication to becoming a better person day by day.

Approximately four months following the release of the video, during a court hearing concerning Diddy’s second application for bail, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson reportedly declared, as mentioned by NBC News, that Diddy is said to have sent a text message in the days following the alleged incident.

“Call me, the cops are here,” Johnson said the texts read. “I have six kids. Call, I’m surrounded.”

Furthermore, although Johnson didn’t mention the victim’s name in court, she testified that the woman responded with, “It’s disheartening that you believe your actions are acceptable.

Beyond the attack video involving Ventura, US Attorney Madison Smyser mentioned during the April 25 hearing (as reported by NBC News) that videos showcasing Combs’ “freak offs” – where he is accused of compelling women to take part in sexual acts – will solely be presented to the jury and involved parties. Smyser made clear that neither the videos nor their audio will be released publicly.

After footage of the assault was released, Cassie shared a public message of gratitude.

In her Instagram post on May 23rd, Cassie expressed gratitude for the love and support she’s received from family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. She also mentioned those who are yet to meet her. This outpouring of affection has given her younger self a sense of peace and security, but she emphasized that this is just the start of her journey.

As a lifestyle advocate, allow me to express that domestic violence stands as a pivotal concern. It shattered my identity beyond recognition, leading me to a state I never envisioned for myself. However, through relentless perseverance and self-care, I’ve managed to heal and grow, though the scars of my past will forever be part of my journey.

In a recent update, Cassie, who’s having her third child with spouse Alex Fine, expressed that her healing process is ongoing but the support she receives makes it all worthwhile. She gratefully added, “Thank you.

On March 25th, Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out searches at the Los Angeles and Miami residences of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Multiple law enforcement sources have verified this information to NBC News. The warrant originated from the Southern District of New York, with HSI New York spokesperson confirming they were part of an ongoing investigation, involving assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. At the time of the searches, it was reported that Combs was in the Miami region.

The investigation was initiated following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which were made in multiple lawsuits since November. He has denied these allegations, stating on Instagram in December that “I am appalled by the false claims being made against me by people seeking a quick payday.” He further emphasized that he will vigorously defend himself, his family, and the truth.

The day following the execution of search warrants at Sean Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami residences, his lawyer, Aaron Dyer, issued a statement. “Excessive force reminiscent of military operations was used during the search warrant executions at Mr. Combs’ homes,” Dyer stated to TopMob News on March 26th. “There is no acceptable reason for the aggressive display of force and hostility shown by the authorities, nor the manner in which his children and staff were handled.”

Dyer pointed out that Combs was not detained but willingly spoke with and cooperated with the authorities. The statement further clarified that neither Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested or had their travel restricted in any way. Dyer described the events as an “unprecedented ambush” accompanied by a well-organized media presence, which he believes has led to a hasty judgment against Combs. This, according to him, is merely a witch hunt based on unfounded accusations from civil lawsuits.

And Dyer articulated Combs’ determination to vindicate himself, stating further that, “There has been no ruling of either criminal or civil culpability regarding any of these allegations.” He emphasized, “Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and will continue his daily struggle to restore his reputation.

According to various law enforcement officials who have knowledge of the warrants, it was reported by NBC News that authorities from the Department of Homeland Security confiscated phones from Diddy’s home in Miami prior to his planned trip to the Bahamas. Furthermore, several individuals privy to the situation mentioned that firearms were found during the search.

A person acquainted with the situation has revealed that NBC News was informed by a source that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by prosecutors and investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful drug distribution, and firearm possession. These activities are said to be associated with Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on suspicion of drug possession. This information was shared with NBC News by a law enforcement source knowledgeable about the situation. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by NBC News from the Miami-Dade police department, Paul was detained for allegedly possessing suspected cocaine and marijuana edibles. Prison records show that he was released on bond on March 26. In a statement provided to NBC News, Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, stated, “We do not intend to try this case in the media; all matters will be handled in court.” In May, Paul agreed to a plea bargain, with his lawyer, Bieber, informing People magazine, “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to join the diversion program. Upon completion of this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, he was taken into custody in the lobby of a New York hotel. The specific charges against him have not been disclosed, and it’s uncertain whether his arrest is linked to recent raids.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s choice to pursue a prosecution against Mr. Combs that they consider unjust. In their view, Mr. Combs is not a criminal, despite his imperfections. To demonstrate his willingness to cooperate, Mr. Combs moved to New York last week of his own accord, in preparation for these charges.

The lawyer added, “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Following the arrest of Combs on a sealed indictment, the charges against him were made public on September 17.

Court documents obtained by NBC News reveal that Combs, aged 54, is accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for prostitution.

The indictment asserts that Combs has been abusing, threatening, and coercing women and others close to him to satisfy his sexual desires since around 2008. Prosecutors claim this alleged behavior was concealed and his reputation protected through criminal activities within the empire of businesses he led and controlled for over a decade.

The documents state that Combs used his employees, resources, and influence from his business empire to create a criminal organization, engaging in various illicit acts such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

As per NBC News reports, Combs asserted his innocence and was denied bail. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed before the hearing that he would fight this case with every ounce of energy and determination at his disposal, expressing complete faith in his legal team.

After his arrest, Combs was detained at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, and a bail of $50 million was refused for him. This influential figure in music was also kept under suicide watch, which is reportedly a standard practice for high-profile prisoners according to TopMob News sources. However, he has since been removed from this watch.

According to a source from NBC News, he was given the same sector of the prison as Sam Bankman-Fried, who is known for his involvement in cryptocurrency fraud.

34-year-old comedian Jeff Wittek publicly admitted on September 29 that he had been to one of Diddy’s wild house parties, known as “freak off” events, at a Miami mansion approximately ten years ago.

On Jeff FM, Wittek described it as towering around eight floors and ascending further, with each level revealing increasingly bizarre occurrences.

In the course of events that unfolded that evening, I bore witness to something entirely unprecedented – an encounter that was decidedly adult in nature. This marked a first for me throughout my lifetime’s experiences. As for my participation, let me be crystal clear: I chose not to engage. However, the shock of the moment left me seeking solace in the bottle, and I found myself quite intoxicated as a result.

As Wittek put it, “It’s just crazy. I was literally there. I lived through it.”

At a press conference on October 1st, lawyer Tony Buzbee disclosed that a total of 120 individuals have recently made allegations of sexual assault against the rapper.

During a joint press conference with NBC News, Buzbee asserted that the accusations against Combs involve alleged incidents such as:

1. Sexual assault or rape of a violent nature.
2. Arranging sexual encounters involving controlled substances.
3. Sharing recorded videos of a sexual nature.
4. Abuse of minors in a sexual context.

As a devoted supporter of Erica Wolff’s musical endeavors, I would like to clarify her legal representative’s stance on the recent allegations. To set the record straight, they have underscored that Ms. Wolff’s client, Diddy Combs, firmly upholds his innocence in this matter.

She stated, “He can’t respond to every unwarranted accusation in this senseless media frenzy,” she added. However, it is important to note that Mr. Combs firmly and unequivocally denies any claim suggesting he has sexually abused anyone, particularly minors, as such claims are false and defamatory.

During a press conference on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the attorney in question, stated that one of the 120 accusers was merely nine years old at the time when they allege they were assaulted by Combs.

According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”

Janice’s lawyer, Natlie G. Figgers, expressed her sorrow in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Oct 6, stating, “It’s heart-wrenching to watch my son being judged not based on truth but on a fabricated story. Witnessing what appears to be a public execution of my son before he has the chance to defend himself is an agony words cannot express. Just like any other person, my son deserves his day in court, the opportunity to share his version of events, and to demonstrate his innocence.

The legal representative for Beyoncé and Jay-Z responded following Piers Morgan’s television guest, Jaguar Wright, asserting that the couple might have had more “victims” than Diddy.

Lawyer Alex Spiro explained to TMZ on Oct. 9 that what they’re hearing isn’t just gossip or nonsense, it goes beyond that. This is a clear and deliberate claim about something serious.

In simpler terms, after their lawyer instructed him to do so, Piers took down the untrue claim he had made earlier, and then offered an apology.

On his October 8th broadcast, Piers mentioned that they weren’t available for a response at the time. However, things have changed now as their legal representative has reached out to state that these allegations are completely fabricated and lack any foundation in reality.

In the revised lawsuit initially submitted in October 2024, defendant Ashley Parkham alleged that Odell Beckham Jr., Druski, and Combs were involved in a group sexual assault against her in 2018, which occurred in March 2025.

Both men denied the claims.

In March 2025, Combs reappeared in court where he asserted his innocence regarding charges leveled in an updated indictment, which claimed he coerced staff into working excessive hours and made threats against them if they resisted.

Following a court decree that required an anonymous plaintiff, known as Jane Doe, to disclose her identity and resubmit her lawsuit filed in October 2024, which accused Combs of sexual assault, the case was dropped because the plaintiff failed to refile within the given time limit.
