Sean “Diddy” Combs Trial: Lawyer Admits Domestic Violence, Shocking Details Emerge

Sean “Diddy” Combs is owning up to his past domestic violence.

Just prior to the upcoming federal trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges against the rapper, his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, recently commented on the artist’s previous romantic involvement.

The defense lawyer informed the court on May 9, as reported by NBC News, that they intend to argue there were instances of reciprocal violence between them. In other words, both parties were physically aggressive towards each other. This evidence is significant in demonstrating the coercive elements, and they are acknowledging that domestic violence was indeed present.

Additionally, it was agreed by the defense that they will forgo questioning the first set of witnesses in the trial, whose opening statements are scheduled for May 12, about past accusations not linked to the current charges. Moreover, they also consented not to ask Victim #1, who is rumored to be Combs’ ex-partner Cassie Ventura, intrusive medical questions.

More than a year ago, Combs’ lawyer admitted allegations of domestic violence, following a settlement that Ventura and music mogul Diddy (who had been in a relationship from 2007 to 2018) reached in November 2023. This was a day after she filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape. The specifics of the settlement were not disclosed publicly.

Ventura, who’s expecting their third child with husband Alex Fine, stated that she has chosen a peaceful resolution for this issue, maintaining some degree of control over the terms. She expressed gratitude towards her family, supporters, and legal team for their consistent backing.

Similarly, Combs said he wished Ventura and her family “all the best.”

Several months following the resolution of the dispute, CNN broadcast an unseen 2016 security footage in May 2024, capturing Combs physically attacking the singer known for “Me & U” in a hotel corridor. After the video’s public release, Combs expressed his disgust with his past actions by posting a video on Instagram.

At that point in time, Combs admitted he sought guidance from experts, went to therapy sessions and rehabilitation programs. He also asked for God’s compassion and mercy. He expressed deep regret but emphasized his dedication to become a better person day by day. However, he did not ask for forgiveness; instead, he truly regretted his actions.

In response, Ventura similarly voiced a message expressing gratitude for the outpouring affection from relatives, acquaintances, and supporters. Moreover, she underscored that domestic violence stands as a paramount concern.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, she admitted that her struggles left her changed into someone she hadn’t foreseen. Yet, through determination and effort, she’s improved significantly now, but acknowledges that her past will always be part of her ongoing recovery process.

Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out searches at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25, according to multiple sources within law enforcement who spoke to NBC News. These sources added that the search warrants originated from the Southern District of New York, with HSI New York confirming they executed actions as part of an ongoing investigation, involving assistance from local partners in Los Angeles, Miami, and other law enforcement agencies. The music tycoon was reportedly in the Miami area during the time these searches took place.

The investigation was publicly announced following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which began with lawsuits filed by several accusers in November. Despite these allegations, the musician has denied them and stated his intention to defend himself, his family, and the truth. In a December statement posted on Instagram, he wrote, “Disgusting claims have been made against me by people seeking quick financial gains. Let it be clear: I am innocent of the vile acts being accused. I will vigorously fight for my reputation, my loved ones, and the truth.

A day after the search warrants were carried out at P. Diddy’s LA and Miami properties, his attorney, Aaron Dyer, issued a statement to TopMob News. He criticized the excessive use of force during the execution of the search warrants, stating that it was unnecessary and inappropriate. Mr. Combs himself was not detained but willingly spoke with and cooperated with authorities. The lawyer’s statement also clarified that neither P. Diddy nor any members of his family have been arrested or had their travel restricted in any way. The attorney referred to the incident as an unwarranted ambush, accompanied by a well-organized media presence, which has led to premature judgments against Mr. Combs and is simply a witch hunt based on unfounded accusations made in civil lawsuits.

In response, Dyer made it clear that Combs intends to vigorously defend himself against all accusations. He further stated, “There has been no determination of guilt or liability in any of these allegations. Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and will persistently strive each day to establish his innocence.

During the searches, it was reported by multiple law enforcement sources who are acquainted with the warrant, that authorities from the Department of Homeland Security took phones from Combs’ home in Miami prior to his planned trip to the Bahamas. Furthermore, several sources knowledgeable about the situation mentioned that guns were found during the search.

As a devoted follower reporting this matter, I can share that an insider has confirmed to NBC News that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual assault, drug dealing, and arms trading. These alleged activities are said to be linked to Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on drug possession charges. This information was shared with NBC News by a source knowledgeable about the case.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by NBC News, Paul was detained for suspected possession of cocaine and marijuana edibles. Records show that he was released on bond on March 26.

Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, stated through NBC News that they have no intention of trying this case in the media, and all matters will be handled in court.

In May, Paul agreed to a plea deal, as confirmed by his lawyer Bieber to People magazine: “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to enter into a diversion program. Upon completion of this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, he was taken into custody in the lobby of a hotel in New York City. The specific charges against him have not yet been disclosed, and it remains uncertain whether this arrest is connected in any way to the recent raids.

In a statement to TopMob News, lawyer Marc Agnifilo expressed his dismay over the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s decision to prosecute Mr. Combs, whom they believe is being unjustly accused. Despite being imperfect, they maintain that Mr. Combs is not a criminal. To show his cooperation with the investigation, Mr. Combs moved to New York voluntarily last week in preparation for these charges.

The lawyer added, “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Following his arrest on a previously sealed indictment, the charges against Combs were made public on September 17.

Court documents obtained by NBC News reveal that the 54-year-old was accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

The indictment alleges that Combs exploited, intimidated, and compelled women and others in his circle to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and hide his actions for over a decade. The alleged misconduct is said to have begun around 2008.

According to the documents, Combs utilized the employees, resources, and influence of the business empire he managed and controlled to establish a criminal enterprise. This enterprise reportedly involved members and associates engaging in various criminal activities, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

As reported by NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty in court, but was refused bail. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, stated before the hearing that he would vigorously defend Combs with all his strength and the complete trust of his legal team.

After his apprehension, Combs was detained at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and refused bail amounting to $50 million. This influential figure in music industry was also subjected to suicide surveillance, a routine practice for prominent prisoners according to a source who spoke to TopMob News. However, he has since been removed from this watch.

A source informed NBC News that he was given the same sector of the prison as Sam Bankman-Fried, who is known for his involvement in cryptocurrency fraud.

34-year-old comedian Jeff Wittek openly admitted on September 29 that he was present at one of Diddy’s infamous “freak off” parties, which took place at a Miami mansion, approximately around the year 2010.

On Jeff FM, I shared my experience, stating, “It towered over me, reaching an astonishing eight stories tall, and as I ascended, the strangeness intensified.

He went on to say, “I witnessed an explicit act that evening, which was a first for me in all my years. I didn’t participate, however, but I ended up getting very intoxicated instead.

As Wittek put it, “It’s just crazy. I was literally there. I lived through it.”

At a press conference on October 1st, lawyer Tony Buzbee shared that a total of 120 individuals have recently made sexual assault accusations against the rapper.

During a joint press conference with NBC News, Buzbee outlined accusations against Combs, which involve:
1. Alleged violent sexual misconduct or rape.
2. Accusations of encouraging and facilitating sexual acts involving controlled substances.
3. Sharing video recordings that are sexually explicit in nature.
4. Allegations of abusing minors sexually.

A legal representative speaking on behalf of rapper Erica Wolff subsequently addressed the accusations, underscoring that Combs continues to assert his innocence in this matter.

She stated, “He isn’t able to counter every baseless accusation in this situation that has spiraled into an irresponsible media spectacle. However, Mr. Combs strongly and unequivocally refutes any allegations suggesting he has sexually abused anyone, especially minors, as false and damaging.

During a press conference on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the attorney in question, stated that one of the 120 individuals who have made accusations against Combs was just nine years old at the time when they claim to have been assaulted by him.

According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Oct. 6, attorney Natlie G. Figgers expressed the heart-wrenching experience of Janice as she watches her son being judged based on falsehoods rather than truth. She described it as a gut-wrenching spectacle, witnessing what appears to be a public execution of her son before he has had the chance to defend himself and prove his innocence. Just like any other individual, her son deserves a fair trial where he can present his perspective, establish his innocence, and have his day in court.

The attorney representing Beyoncé and Jay-Z issued a statement following Piers Morgan’s show, where his guest Jaguar Wright alleged that the power couple had amassed a greater number of “victims” compared to Diddy.

Lawyer Alex Spiro said to TMZ on Oct. 9, “There’s gossip, there’s nonsense, but this goes beyond that.” He explained that this is a serious and specific claim being made.

In simpler terms, “Piers was instructed by their lawyer to take down the untrue claim, which he subsequently did and offered an apology.

On his October 8th program, Piers pointed out that the individuals he mentioned were not there to refute or counter the accusations at the time. However, it appears they’ve since responded: their legal representative has reached out to state that those claims are completely unfounded and lack any factual basis.

Back in October 2024, a shocking allegation was leveled against three individuals – Odell Beckham Jr., Druski, and Ashley Parkham’s former partner, Combs – in an amended complaint I personally filed. The claim was that we had all been involved in a horrific gang rape incident that took place in 2018. This is a story I never wanted to share, but the truth must be told.

Both men denied the claims.

In March 2025, Combs reappeared in court, this time asserting his innocence regarding charges brought forth in an updated indictment. The updated indictment claimed he compelled staff to work excessive hours and made threats against them if they did not comply.

Following a court decision that required “Jane Doe” plaintiff to disclose her identity and re-submit her lawsuit, initially filed in October 2024, alleging sexual assault against Combs, the case was dismissed as the plaintiff failed to resubmit within the specified deadline.

On May 5, 2025, a week prior to the presentation of the opening statements in the trial, the jury selection process commenced. This jury consisted of 12 main members and 6 substitutes.
