The search for Eliza Huszti and Henrietta Huszti continues.
On January 29th, it was confirmed that the police have ended their search in the river for the Hungarian sisters, aged 32, who went missing. This update comes approximately three weeks after they were last seen around 2 a.m. local time on Market Street near the Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen, Scotland. The missing women are part of a set of triplets.
According to David Howieson, who spoke to People, extensive and thorough investigations have been conducted in the River Dee and the Harbour region. This was done using the expertise of local and national law enforcement resources such as dive teams, marine units, police dogs, air support, and even assistance from partner agencies.
Howieson mentioned that the investigations regarding their whereabouts have been wrapped up for now, however, efforts will continue to locate Eliza and Henrietta.
As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share this tidbit: The superintendent hinted at the fact that the investigation is still ongoing, with the search now concentrated on different zones.
The search along the coastline, on both sides of Aberdeen city, will persist, with any new data obtained by the police being immediately addressed, as stated. I’d also like to reiterate that at this point, there’s no indication of anything unusual or criminal happening.
A change in the focus of searches occurred about a week following confirmation that an enigmatic text message was transmitted from Henrietta’s mobile device to her landlady, at 2:12 a.m., on the day the sisters vanished.
As per the police report, the message indicated that they wouldn’t be coming back to their common residence anymore. Subsequently, the phone was cut off from the network, and it hasn’t been in use since.
On the next day, the police stated that the landlady discovered the sisters’ possessions and notified the authorities in Aberdeen about the strange activities.
Investigators found out that the origin of the message was near the Victoria Bridge, which was the last known location where they were spotted.
Police also announced that the sisters had visited the same area one day prior on Jan. 6.
The two individuals, each carrying a backpack, stayed on the bridge for roughly five minutes without engaging with others. Upon examining the CCTV recordings later, authorities traced their path back towards their apartment, situated in the Charlotte Street district of Aberdeen.
Officials are urging people to share any details they may know about the missing women, if they have any.
Howieson previously emphasized that anyone having any details potentially useful for locating Eliza and Henrietta is asked to reach out. He also mentioned that they are consistently communicating with the families of Eliza and Henrietta in Hungary, and will persistently offer them assistance during this challenging period.
