It seems that MomTok managed to make it through! In less than two months, Disney Plus has announced the return of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for its second season on their streaming platform.
Last year’s announcement confirmed that the controversial reality show would receive an additional 20 episodes. Beginning this coming Thursday, 15th May, you can start streaming the first ten episodes online.
The characters Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt will reappear in the series, with a fresh chapter beginning as a new character, previously known as a MomToker, is introduced.
Correctly understood, Miranda McWhorter is set to make a surprising return in season 2, with Disney Plus hinting: “The unexpected comeback of an original cast member from their infamous scandal stirs up trouble, as friendships teeter on the edge and long-hidden truths, deceits, and accusations burst forth.
In the struggle for the essence of MomTok, does betrayal lead to their bond’s destruction, or does unveiling the truth bring about their liberation?
This year, the debut of the Hulu production took place in September (airing on Disney Plus in the UK), making it Hulu’s highest-viewed unscripted premiere compared to other shows such as The Kardashians.
In Season 1, we were introduced to Mormon mom influencers from Utah, who appeared to have a picture-perfect life online. However, their seemingly idyllic existence was shattered when a sex scandal surfaced, brought to light by one of the group’s founding members.
Over time, as more episodes unfolded, there emerged a division within the group with several women distancing themselves from Whitney, creating uncertainty about whether or not any reconciliation took place following the series’ success.
With the conclusion of season 1 sparking great anticipation among viewers, and a flurry of discussions on social media platforms, it’s clear that fans have a lot to look forward to as season 2 makes its premiere.
