How to Get the Secret Boss and Justice Axe | Minimal Spoilers Guide

To acquire the Justice Axe and battle the secret boss in this playthrough, search for three concealed Golden Piano note series scattered throughout the Dark Sanctuary. The sequences can be gathered in any order, but having the Climbing Gear will make your task easier. Additionally, you’ll stumble upon the Golden Piano as the story unfolds; remember to revisit it later when needed. Therefore, advance the story initially so that you can obtain the first piece first.

To play the Golden Piano correctly, as you may have guessed, you’ll need these notes. Using them is the key to finding the Justice Axe. Here are the locations for each of the three note sequences:

  • Inside the room with the “Jockington Grows the Beard” message.
  • Inside the Dark Sanctuary’s lower right section, directly to the right of the Old Man’s Library.
  • Behind the waterfall by the starting point for the area. You’ll need to donate to open the path behind the waterfall.

In these zones, simply light them up. You’ll notice that golden arrows and dots will appear within the room, representing the keys for the Golden Piano. Rest assured, there’s no need for you to remember their locations manually! Instead, just engage with them to gather them automatically.

After discovering the note sequences, simply make your way back to the Golden Piano. The complete sequence will then be revealed. Follow the order of keys from left to right and you’re done here! Upon your return, the fireplace in the Study of the Dark Sanctuary will open up. Overcome the secret boss hidden within, and you’ll acquire the Justice Axe in Deltarune Chapter 4.
