Secret Level Animated Series Reportedly Still Planning Concord Episode

As a longtime gamer with a soft spot for underdogs, I must admit that I’m a bit torn about the situation surrounding Concord and Secret Level. On one hand, it’s disappointing to see a game launch so recently only to be shut down just as quickly. It feels like a brief, fleeting moment in gaming history that might not get the recognition it deserves.

Just a few days ago, I was left stunned by the news that PlayStation is planning to discontinue their multiplayer shooter game, Concord, which they had only recently released on August 23rd. Despite the high anticipation, it struggled to capture a substantial player base. This announcement made waves in the video game industry, especially since Concord was one of the games slated for Amazon’s upcoming animated series, Secret Level.

As a passionate gaming enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement about the officially unveiled anthology series, “Secret Level,” which was recently showcased at Gamescom last month. This unique production will delve into episodes inspired by video games from an array of developers and publishers. The first season promises to feature iconic franchises such as Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Armored Core, alongside newer additions like Sifu, The Outer Worlds, and Concord.

There’s over three months remaining until the show premieres, and things could potentially shift. It’s uncertain how advanced production is on the upcoming episode, but it’s a tricky predicament. If the episode has been or nearly will be finished, at least it provides _Concord_’s modest fanbase an opportunity to bid farewell. Since the series follows an anthology format, it makes sense that others might choose to overlook it without feeling left out.

The show titled “Secret Level” is being developed by Blur Studio, the same team behind the critically acclaimed Netflix series Love, Death + Robots. Notably, this studio was established by Tim Miller, director of Deadpool. He will be taking on the roles of both creator and creative director for this project. In its entirety, the first season consists of 15 episodes, which will air on Prime Video.
