According to a joint announcement from Sumo Group and Emona Capital, Sumo Group has transferred ownership of its publishing branch, Secret Mode, to investment firm Emona Capital.
Under the “complete support” of Emona Capital, James Schall (co-founder) and Ed Blincoe (vice president of publishing) will continue to guide Secret Mode as it moves into its next stage.
Previously, Secret Mode has developed games such as “Still Wakes the Deep”, “Turbo Golf Racing”, and “Eternal Threads”. At present, they have announced their upcoming titles which include “Empyreal” and “Mars Horizon 2: The Quest for Life”.
Previously, Emona Capital has made investments in game development companies like Relic Entertainment and Amber Studio. However, the investment in Secret Mode represents its initial foray into game publishing.
